TULSA, OK (October 9, 2018) – Leake Auction Company, a Ritchie Bros. solution, will host its final auction of 2018, at Dallas Market Hall, on November 15 – 17. Car enthusiasts can expect to see decades of automotive history during the three-day sale, such as Model A’s, Broncos, Corvettes, Mustangs, Thunderbirds and more.

One of the big highlights of the Dallas auction is a 1969 Shelby GT500 Fastback being sold without reserve on Saturday, November 17. The royal maroon Fastback features a 428 cobra jet V8 engine with a four-speed manual transmission. It is listed in the Shelby Registry and has a Marti Report.

“Our November Dallas auction is consistently strong, and as the line-up has continued to evolve over the past several weeks, we anticipate a strong sale to close out 2018,” said Richard Sevenoaks, General Manager of Leake Auction Company. “Now that we are integrated with Ritchie Bros., we have opened the door to 3.3 million online registered bidders in 155 countries. This expands our reach and positions us to have the largest bidder base in the collector car industry.”

Another rare automobile offered during the sale is a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88. One of only 80 1968 L88s built, this Corvette has the original, factory-build sheet still glued to the gas tank. It is equipped with a period-correct drivetrain with a M22 Rock Crusher four-speed, 3.70 rear end, featuring a 427/430hp L88 engine. The Corvette has been professionally repainted to the original white and is the beneficiary of a rebuilt engine. Other features include: the original red leather interior, factory radio delete and removable back window. It was an award-winner at the Indianapolis World of Wheels in 1978—the only show in which the car competed.

“The L88s have been in demand over the last couple of decades, domestically and internationally,” said Gary Bennett, General Manager, New Ventures & Sectors (Collector Cars) for Ritchie Bros. “This particular car is special because it is a documented three-owner car, with the tank sticker still in place, and under 25,000 documented miles. It has been repainted to its original color and is being offered now in its original color combination of white/red interior. We are very excited and proud to offer this special 1968 L88 coupe.”
