1956 Ford F100 Half Ton Pickup
Offered for sale is a solid, rust free Ford F100 pickup with subtle custom styling and performance and handling upgrades. This is the kind of hauler that is suitable as a daily driver, but gets plenty of attention at car shows. Its dependable 350 CID Chevy V8 delivers close to 300 horsepower, and, coupled to a GM 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission ensures good acceleration and gets excellent freeway mileage thanks to the 3.50:1 gears in a rear end donated by a 1991 Explorer. The engine emits an assertive rumble from big dual exhaust pipes with FlowMaster mufflers. The original straight axle was jettisoned, replaced with a Nova front clip with independent suspension that gives the truck instant steering response and a great ride.
This all steel Ford has an oak plank bed, new glass and rubber, a smoothed dashboard with Autometer gauges, GM tilt steering column, Lokar shifter, power steering, and power disk brakes and emergency brake. The bench seat is upholstered with comfortable cloth and vinyl and the door panels and headliner are finished to match. The smoothed tailgate has custom latches, the rear bumper was custom fabricated with a recessed license plate, and staggered radial tires and 2” dropped spindles give the truck a great stance. Turn signals in the headlights keep the front “floating bar” grill clean and neat.
This sweet F100 was restored and painted in 2006, sporting a beautiful dark, rich coat of Polo Green nicely accented with yellow steelies. The bodywork and paint are in superb condition with just 1900 miles accumulated in almost 20 years. Always garaged and meticulously maintained, it comes with no apologies. A file documenting the restoration work, maintenance records, and component parts comes with the truck.
