If you like anything at all about old cars, you automatically notice the classic cars that are used in today’s entertainment world. Occurring more and more throughout all types of genres, classic cars can add alot to a scene or even paint a picture of who a character is. Old muscle cars instantly create a “cool”, “tough” character, beat up old vintage cars create a character with an artistic side, and old elegant or concours type vehicles present a character with high class. Whether its a Mustang or Corvette, Cadillac or Mercedes-Benz, the simple placement of these old classics, add flare that nothing else could!
What’s nice to see is that these cars are popping up in shows and movies not necessarily about the time when they were new. What’s great for our collector car industry is that these shows and movies place these cars in ways that everyone things for at least a split second “man it would be cool to own a classic car someday”! Hopefully that little 2 second thought is all we need to grab another young fan and get them exploring the world of classic and collector cars, a world which to some people is a tiny niche market among all the gadgets out there today. Little do they realize how many millions of classic car owners there are in the world and more importantly how many people make their livelihoods in this industry.
What I realize more and more everyday is that EVERYONE is a classic car fan, the real question is how much of a fan are you and are you someone who will someday make an investment to buy one. Not to buy one all finished, but to really experience ownership of an old car and restore it yourself or with the help of a resto shop. Being close to bringing something back to life, to its younger intended state is special. Something that everyone should experience.
