The 2023 Nissan Z Proto Spec is an incredibly rare, limited-run launch edition of the 7th-generation (RZ34) Nissan Z, capped at exactly 240 units for the U.S. market. Built on top of the top-tier Performance trim, the Proto Spec was designed to pay direct homage to the original 2020 Z Proto concept. It comes equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine making 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. What sets the Proto Spec apart from standard Performance models are its unique, heritage-inspired cosmetic touches: - Exterior Styling: Features exclusive Ikazuchi (Japanese for 'Thunder') Yellow TriCoat paint paired with a contrasting gloss black roof. - Wheels Brakes: Rides on 19-inch Rays forged alloy wheels finished in a special bronze, contrasted by custom yellow-painted brake calipers with the Z logo. - Cabin Accents: The interior boasts leather and Alcantara-appointed seats with pearl-yellow stitching and a gradient center stripe. - Special Touches: Includes suede/cloth door trim with yellow stitching, a Proto Spec-specific shift knob (on manual models), and a center-console commemorative plaque.
