"2015 Land Rover LR4 HSE
""We understand that not every LR4 owner expects BMW fighting driving dynamics, and reassuringly, in every other metric the Land Rover passes with flying colors. The boxy styling looks good and has held up over time, and the interior is awash in fine materials and plenty of light from the massive amount of glass. The LR4 is one of the few modern vehicles with a genuinely low cowl, and combined with the tall roof it returns the sensation of extreme roominess and excellent forward and side vision."" Car and Driver, April 2015
For consignment, a 2015 Land Rover LR4 HSE with a title verified 119,022 actual miles. This supercharged SUV has been garage kept and it shows, with the one year only color still shining bright. The interior also shows meticulous care and the LR4's design details are worthy of such attention.
Exterior
This truck's incredible curb appeal is greatly enhanced with the gleaming Montalcino Red paint drenched across its tall and narrow profile. Projector beams book end an elegant fascia with body colored bumper cover and bold fog lights framed in brushed aluminum rings. Tall side windows lead to a unique rear configuration with an asymmetrical window that makes room for sweeping wiper, flanked by bold Altezza style tail lights. The roofline is also different from most SUVs with a gentle rise after the sunroof and an extension of the rear side windows, a heritage nod to the roof windows of prior Defenders. Robust running boards form a visual connection between the 19-inch wheels, here wrapped in 255/55R19's with a mid 2021 date code. We would be remiss if we didn't mention the fender vents, which are epically cool. Imperfections include a few minor scratches and scuffs.
Interior
As impressive as the exterior is, it's the interior that will wow your riders, an amassing of quality materials and beautiful design that begins when you open the doors, revealing Almond leather with metallic and honey colored wood accenting stout door pulls that result in a pleasing thunk. Stepping in, it's leather bucket seats with three in the back, each with their own tall headrest. There are two more smaller buckets in a third row and other than some compression on the driver's seat, all are in fantastic condition. We don't know if the steering wheel is lambskin or calfskin or what, but it's the most subtle material we've ever gripped on a wheel, and leads to a handsome dashboard with practical simplicity in front of you, and an artful arrangement of screen, knobs, buttons, and wood in the center stack. Plenty of bells and whistles on board including an AM/FM/CD and navigation and the center console shifter is a recessed dial. Beige carpet is protected by rubber mats, and also coats that huge space created when the seats are folded. Up top, the headliner and overhead consoles all present cleanly.
Drivetrain
Completely shrouded from view is the 3.0 liter supercharged DOHC V6, rated at 340 horsepower and mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that routes power through 3.54 gears in the front and rear differentials.
Undercarriage
The only spot where some age appears, the underside exhibits the typical surface rust and oxidation you'd see with any driven vehicle, but structurally sound and dry. It is noted that there's a small leak from the brake pump. Dual exhaust runs through the original mufflers before terminating out of sight behind bodywork. Power disc brakes are supplied to all four wheels and independent suspension front and rear is composed of air struts.
Drive-Ability
Tall, airy, and ready for action at the nearest Anthropologie or Duluth Trading, looking down on plebeians is made easy from the perch of this luxury SUV. It exhibits decent power, a quiet interior, and smoothness over our test track's potholed imperfections. All functions work as they should and it even still smells good! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
The nearly $60,000 when new price tag of this SUV doesn't really surprise us now that we've experienced it. This example has obvious signs of pampering and is dressed to impress, both by its driver and its onlookers!
