For consignment, a 2015 GMC 2500 Sierra Denali 4x4 Crew Cab short bed pickup truck with a title verified 147,546 actual miles. An incredible 16 variations of the 2500 were available in 2015 and this was the top dog at the time.
Exterior
Named for the rare gemstone, Onyx Black drapes this big truck and still presents in great shape. The crew cab means you get four full sized doors and combined with the big front end, stretches longer than the bed itself. Sitting high on 20-inch wheels, the rig is equipped with requisite side steps, and those chrome wheels are wrapped in LT275/65R20 all terrain tires with a mid 2024 date code, so there's one expense you won't have to worry about for a while! Out back, integrated steps in the bumper help hoist you up to the tall bed and a hitch receiver is ready and waiting under the plate. Smoked headlights flank that ginormous grille and its brick like pattern while the lower bumper cover also gets chrome trim around tow hooks along with darkened fog lights. The bed itself is rough coated and clean. imperfections include clear coat delamination on the wheels, rock chips peppering up front along with a dent and separation of the textured cover, some dings in the tailgate, chips, scratches, scuffs, and inclusions throughout.
Interior
Robust formed door panels have lots of storage and curves along with what GMC called Grand Lace wood accenting and its dark tones provide handsome trim that is also found lining the center console. Black leather buckets with white stitching flank that huge center console and a rear bench resides in the roomy back. The driver's seat suffers from some tears and cushion compression, but all others are in great shape. The four spoke steering wheel has the typical switchgear and fronts two analogue gauges that flank a digital screen that projects additional and programmable information. There's also a center screen for the AM/FM radio with Bluetooth, the Intellilink system with rear camera and navigation. An A/C control panel tops a row of covered power ports and the center console provides gobs of usable storage and gaps for a pair of Big Gulps. An elbow has worn through the armrest while the floors are protected by weather mats.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a 6.6 liter Duramax Turbo Diesel V8 with a full delete kit from Diesel Dudes. The tuner comes with the truck, which is factory rated at 397 horsepower and backed by an Allison 1000 6-speed automatic transmission. Power is routed through front and rear axles with 3.73 gears. The rear differential is a 14 bolt unit.
Undercarriage
Plenty of surface rust as we would expect but otherwise a clean, dry and solid undercarriage. Power disc brakes are on all four wheels and a single exhaust travels through a stock style muffler. Suspension consists of torsion bars up front and leaf springs in the back.
Drive-Ability
No issues here as the nicely preserved Sierra runs, drives, tracks, and stops well. The cabin is cavernous and there's more than enough room for four, with the option of a fifth, middle occupant in back. All functions on this 11 year old work as if it was a younger ride and we head inside to find a place in the truck room for this family hauler with a bed! While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Tow your race car or show car to the event, and throw the whole family in the cabin! That's living, man! And this high end Sierra has all the bells and whistles you could want for a long road trip or local store run. Travel alone, and you could probably sleep on the massive rear bench! No matter how you slice it, this is an impressive ride that's ready for its next chapter.
