"2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Hardtop
Save for the Viper, no other car in Chrysler's lineup turns heads quite like the 2010 Dodge Challenger. This retro styled, rear drive coupe has impressive on road presence, can be had with a big banger V-8, and is a comfortable long distance cruiser. The Challenger will get looks wherever it goes, especially when brightly colored, thanks to its accurate recreation of the design of the 1970 original. The R/T Classic package adds cool accent stripes on the sides. There's plenty of room inside for four passengers thanks to the Challenger's large size and the seats are quite comfortable."" Thx to MotorTrend
For consignment, a 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T hardtop with a title verified 36,093 actual miles dressed in orange based TorRed and wearing those cool accent stripes on the side, as referenced by Motortrend. The return of the Dodge Challenger was in full boost mode in 2010 as the well received muscle car revisions proved to be potent street machines and instantly desirable. With the move toward electric, (for now), picking up an R/T now might prove to be a good investment and a fun one to boot!
Exterior
Strongly resembling the 1970 version on steroids, the face of the car has a bit of a scowl and with this much muscle, you don't want a smile. Buy a Beetle if you're looking for cute, this car is all business exasperated by the wrapped flat black hood and twin intake ducts that teams with the chin spoiler to alter the incoming air and labeled with the most coveted four letters in the performance car world, HEMI. The profile is mean and lean also with taped double ribbon stripes that are punctuated with an RT under the C-pillar while the car hunkers down on 20-inch Mopar wheels with 45 series tires. Don't get too attached to the tires, you'll likely go through a set or two. Out back, the lightbar runs the width of the car with the reverse light in the center, almost as much a styling feature as a safety one. A smooth orange bumper cover gives way to squarish dual exhaust and the suggestion of a rear wing advertises a partnership with Hurst and the R/T name. The bird's eye view reveals a sunroof and a round antenna. Imperfections include a number of touched up scratches and a ding near the stiffening skirt. Beyond that, the paint and graphics are in great shape.
Interior
Robust plastic door panels include a cover which houses the armrest with easy access to window switches and the door handle, as well as some storage below. The Slate palette continues with the thick bucket seats, in black leather and tuck and roll pleated inserts and the 2+2's in back appear almost as supportive with raised seat sides and a fold down armrest, all looking fresh. The leather wrapped steering wheel heads a clean and practical dashboard, four main gauges with white faces and red needles confront the driver with all the essential information while air conditioning and the AM/FM/CD radio that is Bluetooth and XM capable take their place in the center. That rear wing is no lie, there's a pistol grip Hurst shifter in the center console, melding the idea of gunslinger and road warrior meeting in a dark room. WeatherTech mats protect the low pile black carpet below and the padded headliner above looks to be in great shape. The trunk is spotless and lined with gray cloth covered panels for a finished and clean presentation.
Drivetrain
Under the hood and tucked in the clean engine bay is Dodge's venerable 5.7 liter Hemi V8 putting out 376 horsepower, fuel injected, and tied to a TR6060 6-speed manual transmission sending the herd to the back where it finds 3.91 gears in a limited slip differential. Naturally, power disc brakes are on all four wheels when it's time to bring those horses back to the stable.
Undercarriage
Some typical and unavoidable surface rust is present but beyond that, the underside is clean and dry. Duals run in tandem to find a pair of FlowMaster mufflers before exiting out back. Coil spring suspension occupies front and rear independent systems.
Drive-Ability
This is not unfamiliar territory for us here at the mall as we've seen our share and they are brisk sellers. Like most, this one's been pampered and is super comfortable on the inside which hugs you like a thick, black blanket and puts a fat steering wheel in your hand to pilot it. And pilot it we did, right to the test loop where it performs pretty much as expected. Blistering speed and power, great straight tracking, and excellent handling. And as a modern car with low mileage, our list of functional test items all get check marks. A+. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Talk about bang for the buck. Nearly 400 horsepower, a tick over 36,000 miles, and a sunroof! Despite some cosmetic changes through the years, the 2010 still looks fresh and Dodge hit a home run with this design that is aggressive and muscular but streetable for daily use. R/T stands for Road/Track but it could easily stand for ""Ready to Transport!"" Just let us know where to ship it!
