2010 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS Coupe
There was quite a buzz in the automotive world when the fifth generation Camaro took to the streets. In any trim level they were new and different and cool, retaining just enough retro styling to please Camaro fans while introducing modern conveniences and in the SS versions, a big engine and notable performance. There was no hiatus between generation five and six and as the Camaro progressed, first year gen five cars have become potential classics with each passing year.
For consignment, a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS coupe with a title verified 6,833 actual miles. With a few modifications, including some to the exterior, our consignor has transformed this SS from a run of the mill stock version to something that's bound to turn more heads more quickly.
Exterior
Deep as the midnight sky, this pampered pony car was seemingly dipped in a vat of Black paint and it hunkers down over 20-inch chrome wheels wearing ZR rated 45 series tires. But it's the body kit that gets our attention, side skirts clinging to the rocker panels like a Trans Am track car, extension of the chin further than Jay Leno's, and putting aggressive diffuser on the rear valance. Combine this with the black Bowtie call outs, the carbon fiber vents of the ZL1 inspired hood, and you have one mean looking Camaro. Trim on the faux rear fender vents adds a touch of elegance and a rear spoiler is a counter balance for the diffuser below and well proportioned. Imperfections are few and include a spider crack in the clear over the carbon fiber, inclusions on the hood, scuffs and a line of chips and bubbling on the decklid below the spoiler, scuffs on the front air dam, side cladding, and a touched up chip on the door.
Interior
Molded black plastic creates a clean presentation augmented by glossy gray inserts on the door panels, both in excellent condition. Sport bucket seats combine black leather with white stitching while SS is embroidered on each headrest. Rear 2+2 seats are also black leather and have better than average side and seat. Our steering wheel is sculpted to the hands, while a twin gauge pod is in front with a digital screen between them. The center stack radio and heater/AC controls glow with blue and red coloration while four square gauges are down below, canted up for viewing, and a solid call back to the first gen Camaros. The radio is an AM/FM/CD while in the center console, a stout shifter wears a black leather boot with white stitching and all of it is in immaculate condition. Low pile black carpet covers the floor, and a gray formed headliner is up above along with the overhead console. The trunk is lined in gray cloth and is perfect.
Drivetrain
Under the vented hood is a clean 6.2 liter LS3 V8, with 430 horsepower and a chrome inlet tube for the cold air system. It's mated to a Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual transmission the routes power to the rear wheels and 3.45 gears with limited slip in the differential.
Undercarriage
We have an underside that is testimony to the car's low mileage. Dual exhaust runs through Borla Atak mufflers and then exits via large chrome tips. Power disc brakes are at all four corners and suspension consists of coil springs up front and 4.5 link on the independent rear suspension.
Drive-Ability
Here's a 15 year old Camaro that's practically new! As such, the car starts easily, sounds great, and hits the test loop with bravado. We're on the OEM tires so won't be flogging this muscle car, but it's obvious that there's power under foot and this isn't the first LS3 we've peddled through the test loop, it just happens to sound a bit better and look a little more sinister. Meanwhile, all functional items work as intended on this garage kept beauty. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
2010 Camaro SS's are fairly quick sellers here at the mall and this is a fantastic, low mileage example with some visual enhancements that make it stand out without being over the top. This beautiful black Camaro is ready for show and go!
