This 2007 Honda Shadow VLX600 Deluxe was purchased new by the seller at Blue Ride Powersports in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Since the purchase, it has traveled just under 2,000 miles, according to the seller, who also reports it has always been kept in a heated garage, when not in use, and is “indistinguishable from new in every way.”
POWERTRAIN: The Shadow VLX600 is equipped with a water-cooled 600-cc single-crankpin twin-cylinder for a proper V-twin rumble, and it turns out 41 hp and 37.6 lb-ft of torque. The odometer shows under 2,000 accurate miles, per the seller, who also reports that the carbureted engine starts with no issues on full choke and that there are no running issues. The V-twin is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, which the seller reports shifts “as new,” with no leaks or other issues.
EXTERIOR: The Shadow’s fuel tank and fenders are reportedly painted in the original Candy Dark Red finish, with vinyl “Shadow” graphics on the fuel tank. All of the painted sections appear to be in excellent condition, with no visible sun or collision damage. The chrome details include the air cleaner, exhaust, turn signals, and headlamp, and all appear to be in excellent condition, with no visible pitting or other damage. The Shadow is equipped with accessories and other details, including a fuel tank cover with a mobile phone storage pocket, tassels on the hand levers, and soft black saddle bags, all of which appear to be in excellent condition.
SEAT AND CONTROLS: The Shadow features a deep, black vinyl seat, mounted at a low 27.2-inch seat height perfect for riders of smaller stature. It’s also equipped with a black vinyl pillion saddle with a hand strap, which appears to have had no use. The Shadow was equipped with highway pegs from the factory, along with forward-mounted rear brake and shift levers. The rear passenger has fold-down footpegs. The rider has conventional hand controls for the clutch and front brake, neither of which show any indication that the bike has ever been dropped. The rider has a single gauge, a speedometer mounted ahead of the handlebars, that shows the low mileage on the odometer. Chrome-accented Formotion handlebar clock between the handlebar mounts, along with a small accessory windscreen, which is easily removable with a couple of bolts.
CHASSIS: The Shadow is built around a double cradle steel frame, allowing for the bike’s long wheelbase and low seat height. The front suspension features a 39-mm fork, and the rear swingarm is designed for a custom “hardtail” appearance, with a seven-position single rear shock with preload ability. The bike stops with a single 296-mm rotor and two-piston caliper up front, along with a 160-mm drum at the rear.
