This triple black 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLK350 Convertible, offered for sale by its owner in Longmont, Colorado, is said by the seller to be an original, unmodified example that runs great.
Fitment of a 3.5-liter V6 to bring in the 2006 model year designated this version of the CLK-Class Mercedes as the CLK350. Offered among the second generation of CLK-Class modelsproduced between 2002 and 2010the A209 CLK Cabriolet was launched in 2004.
Styled to resemble the then-current R230 SL-Class, the C209s rearward sweeping beltline gives it a taut appearance. Looking at it, one gets the impression the car will spring into motion at any moment.POWERTRAIN
Employing the E35 version of the M272 Mercedes-Benz V6 engine, this 2006 CLK350 has a 3.5-liter normally aspirated DOHC 90-degree V6. The M272 uses an aluminum block and heads, silicon/aluminum-lined cylinders, forged-steel connecting rods and a one-piece cast crankshaft. Pistons are iron coated, and the dual-length variable intake manifold is magnesium. Rated to produce 268 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 258 lb-ft of torque at 3,500, the engine also uses a balance shaft and variable valve timing. The C209 CLKs W7A 400 7G-Tronic automatic transmission was the first seven-speed automatic to be fitted to a production passenger automobile. Feeding the rear wheels, it was also the first transmission to use a magnesium casing. The transmission is said by the seller to change well and he reports no modifications to the engine or the transmission.
The seller says, The engine looks original and runs great. He continues, It also starts and runs smoothly and has no leaks. About the engine, he further articulates, I had it state inspected for emissions and it passed, he then goes on to say, I also had it checked out and serviced when I bought it in December of 22.
The seller characterizes the cars black paint (Code C040) as being original and in great condition. He also says the body has no dents, but there are a few minor scratches. All exterior glass and windows are described as being all good.
All exterior lighting is depicted as working and the seller says there is no body rust about which to be concerned. Body seals are said to look good and exhibit no leaks. No body modifications are reported, as it is said to be all stock.
The audio system is said by the seller to work good. He also calls attention to the multi-disc CD changer, which he says works. There appears to be a crack in the radios faceplate in the provided photos. Heat and A/C are both said to function properly and no modifications to the interior of the car are reported.CHASSIS
The seller characterizes the shocks and bushings as in good condition and pronounces the same for the brakes. No play is noted in the steering and the seller says the power steering system works fine. No chassis modifications are reported. He reports minor curb rash on the 17-inch alloy wheels and says, The suspension system was serviced right after I bought the car six months ago. DOT date codes indicate the 215/45ZR17 Nexen N500 tires were produced in 2021. The seller says the car has traveled approximately 2,000 miles on them.DOCUMENTATION
