2006 Ford GT Heritage For Sale - Only 998 Miles From New, One Collector Owned LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 2006 Ford GT Heritage Few modern automobiles have achieved the instant reverence, historical significance, and long-term collectability of the Ford GT. Developed as a direct homage to Ford’s dominance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans during the 1960s, the first-generation Ford GT stands as one of the most important American performance cars of the modern era. Among these already exclusive machines, the Heritage Edition represents the pinnacle—an unmistakable tribute to the legendary Gulf-liveried GT40 race cars that secured back-to-back victories in 1968 and 1969. This exceptional 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition is among the finest examples in existence. Showing just 995 original miles from new, it has been meticulously preserved under the care of a single collector since delivery. As one of only 343 Heritage Editions produced, it represents an increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a truly untouched, investment-grade example of Ford’s halo supercar. Finished in the iconic Heritage livery inspired by the Gulf Racing GT40s, this example captures the essence of Ford’s motorsport glory. The instantly recognizable color scheme pays direct tribute to the machines that conquered Le Mans, making this variant one of the most visually and historically significant iterations of the Ford GT. Under the rear clamshell lies a supercharged 5.4-liter DOHC V-8 engine, factory rated at 550 horsepower. Paired with the highly regarded Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission, the Ford GT delivers a raw, analog driving experience that has become increasingly rare in the modern supercar landscape. With its lightweight aluminum spaceframe, race-inspired suspension, and breathtaking performance capabilities, the GT offers a driving experience that is as visceral as it is rewarding. This particular example was delivered new to Mossy Ford in San Diego, California, and remains accompanied by a comprehensive suite of original documentation. Included are the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, registration documents, and related factory materials, further reinforcing its provenance and collector-grade status. Notably, this GT was delivered with all four available factory options, making it especially desirable among enthusiasts and collectors alike. These options include the premium McIntosh Audiophile Sound System, gray-painted brake calipers, and the lightweight optional BBS forged aluminum wheels, all of which contribute to both its rarity and overall specification. The car rides on Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, maintaining its factory-correct presentation. The first-generation Ford GT has firmly established itself as a blue-chip collectible, celebrated not only for its performance and design but also for its historical importance. As analog supercars continue to disappear, examples such as this—low mileage, single ownership, fully documented, and exceptionally well-optioned—are becoming increasingly difficult to source. For the discerning collector, this 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition represents far more than just a car—it is a tangible connection to one of the most celebrated chapters in American racing history. With its ultra-low mileage, impeccable provenance, and iconic Heritage presentation, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most significant modern collector cars ever produced. -
