2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren - Legendary supercar
This 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was initially delivered to Mercedes-Benz of Tampa, Florida. It is a one owner car that has 9k miles. It is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter M155 V8 paired with an AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Crystal Laurite Silver over Silver Arrow 300SL red leather upholstery ($9,900 option from the factory). Work carried out in September 2020 included the replacement of the underbody hardware, battery, rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, air filters, drive belts, and right door support, while service in November 2022 consisted of flushing the brake fluid, changing the oil, refinishing the front wheels, and replacing the instrument cluster. This SLR McLaren is offered with its window sticker, factory literature, service records, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean title.
The SLR is built with a carbon-fiber monocoque and crash structures. This example is finished in Crystal Laurite Silver and features upward-opening butterfly doors, xenon headlights, integrated fog lights, heated side mirrors, twin side-exhaust outlets behind each front wheel, a rear diffuser, and an electronically deployed rear spoiler air brake. Asymmetrical turbine-style 19 alloy wheels wear 255/35 front and 295/30 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, which were mounted in September 2020. Stopping power is provided by silver Mercedes-Benz-branded calipers over carbon-ceramic rotors at all four corners, and the car is equipped with a Sensotronic Brake Control system (SBC). Replacement wheel lugs were fitted in 2020, and service in November 2022 included refinishing the front wheels and flushing the brake fluid.
The cockpit features carbon-fiber-backed bucket seats trimmed in optional Silver Arrow 300SL red leather, and matching upholstery extends to the door panel inserts, center console, and dashboard. Aluminum trim accents the cabin, and additional appointments include a cassette stereo, a trunk-mounted CD changer, a Bose sound system, a shift knob-mounted starter button, aluminum pedal covers, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames McLaren-branded instrumentation including a 220-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 9k miles. The front-mid-mounted 5.4-liter M155 V8 was factory rated at 617 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque and features all-aluminum construction, 24 valves, dry-sump lubrication, and a Lysholm-type twin-screw supercharger.
Service in September 2020 included replacing the engine air filters, drive belts, spark plugs, battery, rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, and starter battery, while an oil change was performed in November 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission. The underbody hardware and transmission electrical connector were replaced in 2020. The window sticker shows initial delivery to Mercedes-Benz of Tampa, Florida, along with factory colors, equipment, options, and a total retail price of $465,650. The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Florida and New York.
