This one was made in Sindelfingen, Germany and it left the assembly line with the following options – Parktronic System (code 262); a wood-and-leather steering wheel (code 289); COMAND system (code 352); multi-contour front bucket seats (code 404 and 405); rear window roller blind (code 540); walnut wood trim (code 731); AMG styling package (code 772); compact disc changer (code 819); and heated windscreen washer (code 875). It was delivered on June 8, 2002.
Dressed in Brilliant Silver Metallic (code 744), the car's paint and trim are in overall excellent condition. The car's body-colored bumpers fit tightly and the cargo area is clean and complete with a cargo net, full-sized spare tire, screw, jack and a toolkit. The engine bay is tidy. The car has AMG bodywork, separating it from the garden-variety CL55s.
This car rolls on new Continental radials mounted on 18-inch AMG Monoblock alloy wheels (code 795). The wheels look fantastic and are original.
Under the counterbalanced hood is a Lysholm type, twin-screw supercharged 5.4L SOHC 24-valve V-8 engine (code M113) with sequential fuel injection and water-to-air intercooler. The supercharger was developed in conjunction with IHI and features Teflon-coated rotors. Backing the motor is a five-speed M-B automatic transmission (code 5G-Tronic). Driver convenience features are lengthy, as one would expect from a luxury make - electronic climate control; power, speed-assisted steering; power, four-wheel-disc brakes; cruise control; power windows; power sideview mirrors; power front bucket seats; and sunroof.
Safety equipment includes dual front airbags; anti-lock brakes; front and rear side curtain airbags; and LED brake lights.
Inside, the car is upholstered in Black Leather (code 261) and presents beautifully. The inner door panels are in very good order. The front and rear bucket seats look great. Factory cocoa floor mats complement the black carpeting. The four-spoke steering wheel and a full dashboard both look new while the dash and inner door panels have burled walnut trim for added warmth (code 731).
Like the previous generation CL, the C215 features a pillarless design with no B-pillar between the front and rear side windows. The C215 CL-Class was the second car (after the W220 S-Class) with Distronic: the first worldwide radar-assisted autonomous cruise control system. It was the first car in the world with both low beam and high beam (Bi-Xenon) High Intensity Discharge headlamps.
The Active Body Control (ABC) hydro-pneumatic active suspension was standard on the C215 CL-Class. This keeps the car leveled even in fast corners and also provides a comfort and sports setting. Driver controls can enable the system to increase the car's ground clearance in three increments for driving on difficult terrain. The suspension will lower the vehicle automatically at higher speeds. This car's ABC has been properly maintained.
This car has had more than $10,000 in recent maintenance and sorting plus extensive service records. All work was performed by GLB Motorworks or a Mercedes-Benz dealer. It has been owned by adults who were enthusiasts and has been well cared for and loved.
