GO FIND ANOTHER ONE.
This is not another beat-up work truck with a fancy set of wheels. This is a 2001 Ford F-550 XLT Texas Stagecoach Conversion—a purpose-built, low-side hauler from an era when trucks were built to work, built to last, and didn’t need a computer’s permission to do either.
Powered by the legendary 7.3L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel, this Texas-built brute has only 87,370 original miles and a clean CARFAX with no reported accidents. It is rear-wheel drive, backed by a four-speed automatic transmission, and equipped with adjustable rear air-ride suspension for improved ride quality and load management.
The Texas Stagecoach conversion transforms this F-550 into something you simply cannot walk into a dealership and replace today. It features a specialized fiberglass low-side hauler body, a heavy-duty fifth-wheel and gooseneck towing setup, polished 19.5-inch aluminum dually wheels, a spray-in bedliner, woodgrain XLT interior trim, a rear flip-down DVD player, and a rear seat that converts into a bed.
This truck was expensive when new—and it would be outrageous to reproduce today.
The original Ford F-550 chassis carried an MSRP of $41,650. The Texas Stagecoach conversion added another $23,995, bringing the total 2001 MSRP to $65,645. Adjusted for inflation, that is approximately $125,585 today—and good luck ordering anything this unique for that money now.
