"2000 Ford Mustang GT Hardtop
""The Mustang had significant stylistic updates last year, and so little changed for 2000. But that's no problem. Ford has done a great job keeping the Mustang up to date, and balancing performance with practicality and value. Although some of its competitors are on the endangered species list, Ford's little pony car is healthy, and, in most ways, better than ever. It is offered in coupe and convertible body styles in three levels of performance - with a 3.8 liter V6, the 4.6 liter single overhead cam V8 GT, and the limited production 5.4 liter twin cam V8 Cobra R."" For consignment, a 2000 Ford Mustang GT hardtop showing no miles as the odometer is not displaying and the PA title carries an exemption. Our consignor tells us the mileage is true to the engine build which is just the tip of the iceberg for this stout stallion.
Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area.*
Exterior
It looks black, but in just the right light, the red undertones appear on this Black Cherry Mustang, applied in two stages and augmented by some tasty and aggressive features, particularly up front. First, we have smoked headlights which are downright sinister and accompanied by a Cobra style front fascia. Then there is that massive cowl hood which leads the car like a Rhino's horn and looks ready to push things out its way. Following the car from behind provides a few hints; there's a heftier rear spoiler and Cobra stamping coupled with rear tire width that is decidedly different from stock. The staggered tires are mounted on 15-inch Weld Race Star wheels with the rear tires tucked neatly into the wheel well. Imperfections are few and include some minor inclusions and an area of dullness on the front bumper.
Interior
Stock Charcoal door panels greet you upon opening and are in nice condition with a bit of fading to the switchgear labels, creating a portal to the leather bucket seats up front and other than some wear to driver's seat and a bit on the passenger seat, they are in fine shape and the rear 2+2 looks virtually untouched. Your stock steering wheel with airbag is surrounded by white faced AutoMeter gauges on the A-pillar and as a large tachometer and shift light to the right. The factory instrument cluster lives up ahead but more gauges and a row of racing toggle switches replace the radio while the A/C panel is still in place. A Hurst shifter resides in the center console with a tear to its boot but otherwise clean and mounted over black carpet and mats. The headliner's in decent shape and the fully finished trunk houses a battery box and fire extinguisher.
Drivetrain
Here's where the rubber hits the road with a 351ci Windsor V8, bored .060 over and with a Crane camshaft and a B&M 174 supercharger with 9 pounds of boost and a fully chromed housing and snorkel. Polished Ford Racing valve covers also dress things up under the hood and reside over Ford Racing X heads and roller rockers and flank a 1000cfm Demon 4-barrel carburetor. It goes on from there with a Tremec 3550 5-speed manual and its Ford Racing clutch and Lakewood Blowproof bellhousing. But wait...there's more! All that energy is transferred to the Ford 8.8 spooled rear end with C clip eliminators and Moser 35 spline axles. Naturally there are headers onboard from Mac. The A/C lines have been removed.
Undercarriage
Clean conditions are noted underneath with some typical surface rust in spots but dry and free of soot. Four wheel power disc brakes are here along with dual exhaust that run through Mac mufflers on its way to the back. There are no catalytic converters on board. Suspension consists of coil springs front and rear with a 4 link in back.
Drive-Ability
Do Rhinos roar? Well, this one does right after we turn the key to let the pump prime, hit the gas a few times, and fully rotate the key. Then we track this Stang along the test loop where it demonstrates obvious power underfoot helped out by the induction system, straight tracking, and even decent handling around turns. We note the speedometer, odometer, and factory tachometer are not working but all other functions operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
This is a great looking car with a fantastic build coupled with some exterior aggression. It's just plain mean and still retains enough domestication to make it streetable. Even so, it seems to be purpose built so check your local strip regulations and we'll see you Saturday night!
