"2000 Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4 Long Bed Pickup
""According to The Washington Free Beacon, a new poll by Insure, an independent consumer insurance website, found that women think attractive men are most likely to be driving a pickup truck. The survey asked 2,000 men and women what type, brand and color of vehicle is driven by the most fetching members of the opposite sex. Ladies reported that desirable men are more likely to be driving, specifically, a black Ford truck - not a minivan or hybrid."" Onlineathens.com, March 2014
For consignment, a 2000 Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4 long bed pickup with a title verified 69,621 actual miles. This one's packing a 7.3 liter Powerstroke Turbo Diesel and a plethora of exterior accessories making it one tough truck for the enjoyment of its next owner. This was garage kept by our consignor who also kept it out of snow and salt.
Exterior
There are many ways to accentuate your size, and one way is with a row of cab lights here atop our F250 bathed in Dark Toreador Red. It's a very tall truck, with plenty of gap in the wheel openings that house 18-inch polished wheels and LT265/65R18 BF Goodrich Baja Champion tires. Black wheel arches set the palette of the truck which includes black running boards, side mirrors, door handles, bull bar, and tail light cages. While we're in back, we'll note the hitch receiver and pair of spotlight in tubular steel protective boxes. A set of PIAA fog lights hitch a ride on the bull bar and a tonneau cover rolls over the rhino coated bed to cap our fortified rig. Imperfections include a number of chips some of which have been touched up.
Interior
Ford's familiar vacuum molded plastic door panels have consistently proven to hold up well and there's no exception here as they remain in wonderful condition, here in Medium Parchment. Cloth bucket seats alternative solid beige material and a patterned one and other than some minor compression, look great. The smooth steering wheel fronts a standard dash but the boy racer in us notices the Banks boost and temp gauges on the A-pillar. An AM/FM/CD radio is mounted over the Ford's ubiquitous A/C triple knob panel while the open floor is covered in tan carpet and WeatherTech mats. It's here on the floor where you'll find the shifter with added Banks switch, and the range selector.
Drivetrain
Here we have the favored 7.3 liter Powerstroke Turbo Diesel, putting out 215 horsepower and mated to a ZF 6-speed manual transmission. Power is routed to the Ford Sterling 10.5 rear axle and the Dana 50 up front. The busy engine bay presents in original driver quality condition.
Undercarriage
A finned and polished rear differential cover highlights the underside which we would classify as clean, driver quality with dry conditions and minimal surface rust. A big single exhaust travels through a stock style muffler and exits behind the right rear wheel. Power disc brakes are on all four wheels and leaf springs are front and rear.
Drive-Ability
This well kept truck does everything well with that pleasing diesel sound and turbo whistle. The cabin is comfortable and the truck tracks straight and we're not surprised that all functions operate as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
Another great truck is in our midst! Its simplicity is attractive to truck shoppers, and the added features bump its capabilities and esthetic appeal. Very nice example for towing your show or race car to the next gig, or simply running errands to complete your honey-do list!
