"2000 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

For consignment, a 2000 Chevrolet Corvette convertible showing 26,700 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a PA title exemption. Classic Auto Mall is no stranger to Corvettes, and we've seen our share of the popular silver versions. This one has the unique distinction of a white soft top, a relatively uncommon spec that creates a stand out example.
Exterior
2,783 Corvette convertibles were Silver Metallic in 2000, and about half of them were convertible, 1,240. It's a fine color for America's sports car, looking especially dapper with a this white canvas top and glass rear window. Just like a stingray in the ocean, the car is wide and low, seemingly gripping the ground and close to it with low profile ZR rated tires wrapped around the 5 spoke staggered height wheels. Mid body molding adds some dimension to the sleek body panels while a flat deck lid cascades to a rounded rump enhanced by quad tail lights and quad exhaust. With the top down, the car's profile resembles a drop point blade, ready to slice through the air and turning heads like a magnet on wheels. Imperfections are few and include some chips, surface scratches, and chin scrapes.
Interior
Two tone door panels place black over Pewter lowers and both doors are in great shape. That Pewter is also used on the leather bucket seats and both remain in excellent condition with the slightest patina creasing on the driver's side, as typical. The thick leather wrapped steering wheel is inviting as it frames the clean instrument cluster with arching switches to the side. Our center stack is right out of the Corvette brochure with clean charcoal plastic framing the AM/FM/Cassette radio with a trunk mounted CD changer and A/C panel, both with green digital readouts. Some light scratches are noted on the otherwise spotless center console where we find the black booted shifter and glossy silver waterfall feature between the seats. Low pile gray carpet covers the floor and is clean and is essentially pristine in the trunk.
Drivetrain
Clean as could be is the 5.7 liter LS1 V8, rated at a healthy 345 horsepower and tied to a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear axle with 3.42 gears with limited slip.
Undercarriage
Only light use is evident underneath with dry and clean conditions. The dual exhaust features stainless steel mufflers just prior to the quad exit through chrome tips. Naturally, power disc brakes are onboard and suspension consists of independent unequal length double wishbones with transverse fiberglass monoleaf springs.
Drive-Ability
Everything works as it should on this clean 26 year old car and it delivers the thrills Corvettes are known for. Good power and acceleration, stupendous handling, and race car like vibes on the inside. Other than the TPMS light on, all functions operate without fault on this beauty. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.
C5's are hot in the market place and still represent a performance bargain!
