With the introduction of the C5 (1997-2004), however, Chevy finally had a world-class sports car with performance, styling, and engineering that could compete with all comers. This outstanding 2000 Corvette Convertible is an excellent example of these amazingly capable machines. Lift the familiar reverse-tilt hood and you'll see the stout 5.7L V8, the progenitor of the well respected LS engine family.
