1996 Chevrolet Impala SS, 59,715 Believed Original Miles, One-Family Owned, LT1 V8, Dark Green Gray Metallic, WX3 Real Impala SS The 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS represents the final and, to many enthusiasts, the most desirable year of Chevrolet’s legendary 1994–1996 Impala SS run. With its one-year-only interior upgrades, floor-mounted shifter, center console, analog tachometer, and unmistakable styling, the 1996 model has become the one many collectors seek out. This particular example is even more special thanks to its history, mileage, condition, and desirable color combination. Finished in beautiful Dark Green Gray Metallic over a Gray leather interior, this Impala SS shows just 59,715 miles, believed to be original. Even better, the car remained in the same family from new. It was originally purchased new by the grandfather and was later owned by his daughter, from whom we acquired the car at 83 years old. Finding one of these cars today with this kind of straightforward, long-term family history is becoming increasingly difficult. And yes this is a real Impala SS. The trunk option label carries the desirable WX3 code, identifying it as a genuine factory Impala SS. Under the hood is Chevrolet’s legendary 5.7-liter LT1 V8, paired with an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The LT1 gave the full-size Impala SS the performance credentials to back up its aggressive appearance, making these cars something very different from the typical four-door sedan of the era. The car runs and drives great and has the combination that made the Impala SS famous: V8 power, rear-wheel drive, four doors, a spacious interior, and an unmistakably muscular stance. The 1996 model year is particularly significant because Chevrolet made several changes that enthusiasts still appreciate today. The redesigned interior brought bucket seats, a center console, a floor-mounted automatic shifter, and an analog tachometer features that gave the final-year Impala SS a much more performance-oriented cockpit. And because 1996 marked the end of production for this generation, it has long held a special place among Impala SS collectors. Inside, the Gray leather interior presents very nicely and features the desirable bucket-seat configuration with center console, floor shifter, and tachometer. It has the comfortable, upscale feel of a full-size Chevrolet while still reminding you that this is an SS every time you get behind the wheel. Outside, the Dark Green Gray Metallic finish is an outstanding choice for this car. Combined with the signature 17-inch Impala SS wheels, the car has that low, wide, understated appearance that made these cars so recognizable when new and still turns heads today. Chevrolet took the traditional American formula of a big sedan, V8 power, rear-wheel drive, and room for the entire family and gave it genuine performance attitude. The result was one of the most memorable performance sedans Chevrolet produced during the 1990s. The final-year 1996 cars are especially appealing because they combine the classic exterior appearance of the Impala SS with the improved interior layout enthusiasts wanted. Add the fact that production ended after 1996, and these cars represent the end of an era for Chevrolet's traditional full-size, body-on-frame, rear-wheel-drive performance sedan. This example checks a lot of the right boxes: genuine WX3 Impala SS, final-year 1996 model, LT1 V8, Dark Green Gray Metallic, Gray leather bucket-seat interior, 17-inch SS wheels, believed-original low mileage, and remarkable one-family ownership history. With only 59,715 believed-original miles, this is the kind of Impala SS that can be enjoyed today while also being appreciated as an increasingly collectible modern American classic. A real WX3 Impala SS. One family from new. LT1 V8 power. Final-year 1996. Only 59,715 believed-original miles. This is a very special example of one of Chevrolet's most desirable modern performance sedans. Past & Present Motor Cars was founded in June of 2018 by Jack and Jeff and began in 2 small warehouses in Ocala and Winter Garden, Florida. After seeing the business have steady growth in the first year and a half in March 2020 we moved our Main Location in Winter Garden to a new location that at the time seemed huge. We were a little nervous to take on this larger building and higher rent but we knew we had to THINK BIG. After getting moved in, that was the start of Covid. Just after getting settled in we put signs on the door saying we were only open by appointment. While it was a tough time in the world it actually was a good time to be in the car business especially the classic car business and we continued to see steady growth. After 2 1/2 years in that location we proceeded to acquire 4 buildings and lease a 5th building. This allowed for the operation we have today with 150+ Classic Cars and a Service Department. We are still doing the same thing we have done everyday since we opened, Great Customer Service, Owners that are Available and Accessible for our customers and very happy to talk cars anytime anywhere. We will never grow too big to be real with anyone! Keeping our commitment to our customers through straightforward business and ALWAYS doing the right thing! We are the same people with the same commitment as the day we opened and our slogan is and remains:
