1992 GMC Typhoon Turbocharged AWD Performance SUV
Before high-performance SUVs became the norm, the GMC Typhoon was already rewriting the rules. Produced for only 1992 and 1993, the Typhoon combined turbocharged power, all-wheel drive, and aggressive styling in a package unlike almost anything else on the road.
This 1992 GMC Typhoon is finished in striking Frost White and shows approximately 70,000 miles. It has been extensively upgraded with an emphasis on performance, handling, braking, and drivability, while retaining the unmistakable character that makes the Typhoon such an iconic collectible.
TURBOCHARGED 4.3L V6 / AWD
Under the hood is the legendary turbocharged and intercooled 4.3-liter V6, enhanced with a strong list of performance upgrades including:
Power is delivered to all four wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission equipped with a shift kit and aftermarket torque converter.
Additional drivetrain upgrades include an aluminum driveshaft, BorgWarner transfer case, limited-slip rear differential, and the Typhoon?s factory high-capacity transmission cooling package. Transmission fluid and filter were also serviced recently.
A Sport Machines stainless-steel downpipe and cat-less performance exhaust with a single muffler give this Typhoon an appropriately aggressive sound.
SERIOUS BRAKING & SUSPENSION UPGRADES
This isn?t just a straight-line build. The suspension and braking systems have received substantial upgrades.
The Typhoon rides on Viking adjustable coilovers along with:
Braking is handled by an impressive setup featuring CTS-V sourced 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers, Z06 drilled brake rotors, and PowerStop brake pads.
Staggered 18-inch TSW Kemora wheels complete the aggressive stance and are wrapped in Firestone Indy 500 tires measuring 245/40 front and 275/35 rear.
FROST WHITE EXTERIOR
The Frost White finish gives this Typhoon a clean, sinister look, with the normally charcoal lower cladding having been color-matched white under previous ownership.

The leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of the factory instrumentation, including a 120-mph speedometer, tachometer, boost gauge, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure and fuel level.
