The 1989 Toyota Soarer Aerocabin is a highly rare, limited-edition JDM personal luxury coupe. Only 500 units were produced by Toyota during its April 1989 Japanese bubble-era production run. Performance Specifications - Engine: 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six (7M-GTE) - Power Output: 232 to 240 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque - Transmission: 4-speed automatic transmission (no factory manuals produced) - Drivetrain: Rear-wheel drive (RWD) built on the Z20 / A70 Supra platform Key Design Features - Retractable Roof: Features an electric, motorized folding metallic roof panel and rear window that retract into the trunk area at the push of a button. - Structural Pillars: Unlike traditional convertibles, it retains its fixed B-pillars, C-pillars, and side window frames to maximize structural rigidity. - Two-Seater Layout: The rear seats found in a standard Soarer were omitted to fit the roof folding mechanism, replaced by built-in lockable storage compartments. - Aesthetics: All 500 original factory models were finished in a matching white pearl exterior with tan leather interiors and featured a 1980s digital dashboard.
