Art & Speed is proud to present this stunning Arctic White over Royal Blue 560SL. The 560SL was the last of the R107 series, which ran from 1972 to 1989. Starting in 1986, Mercedes upped its SL's power level with a 5.6-liter V8 pushing 227 horsepower. It isn't a mind-altering number by today's standards, but it was a luxury two-seater with a top speed of 140 mph - plenty for a top-down roadster.
This 1988 560SL is a trip back in time to a world-class experience. With less than 90k miles on the odometer, this SL is in a class of its own, showing in excellent condition from headlight to taillight. It appears to have lived a pampered life driven on weekends or special occasions, and obviously garage-kept. The leather seats, dash, and wood trim have no cracks or excessive wear often found in other examples that spent more time in the sun. Everything works as expected, including the convertible top.
This car appears to be a true survivor, with no apparent signs of significant distress in its 38 years. Even the rubber bumpers and chrome pieces seem to have withstood the test of time quite well. The engine is Mercedes smooth from takeoff as the transmission goes through its three gears automatically. You can confidently cruise this car just like it was 1988 all over again.
We represent this one to be in original condition, but one that can be driven and enjoyed without worrying about putting a few miles on it for a country drive. Come by the Art & Speed showroom, slide behind the wheel of this epitome of style and grace, and take the long way home!

At Art & Speed, we believe that automobiles are more than just transportation. They are part of the "thrill ride" of life!
Maybe it was the car that carried you and that special person on your first date; or brought home your newborn baby. Perhaps a certain car brought father and son together in a project that created cherished memories through frustration, laughter and proud accomplishments. Maybe it was the object that created freedom and exhilaration from the growl of the big block engine, the smell of the interior and the fuel, the feeling of being one with the road. Perhaps it's all about the first time you saw your favorite car with it's sleek lines, wild colors, bold graphics, or elegant sense of beauty and artful design. The wind in your face and hair… The sensation of speed… And remember the family vacations? And, of course, none of us ever had our picture taken with our cars, right?
As adults, we have a passion for the "vehicles of our lives," the stories that they remind us of, the music that we hear when we see certain automobiles. Indeed, automobiles are woven into the tapestry of our lives, reminding us of simpler pleasures.
At Art & Speed, our goal is to help you relive those experiences and create new ones. Founded by Kevin Caffman and Barry Gilmore, Art & Speed delivers the vehicles, memorabilia and special events that strike passion, revive old memories, and allow us to share those events with our family and friends. And most importantly, Art & Speed will help you make new memories!
Art & Speed offers fine collectible automobiles, from original survivor to quality driver, show, and investment cars. We specialize in muscle cars, 50s and 60s classics, as well as modern performance, luxury and exotic cars.
Through our network of resources and professional restoration services, Art & Speed can also help you locate that special car you have been searching for or build the car of your dreams.
Art & Speed not only buys quality collector cars, but we also offer a consignment program for our clients who want to sell one car or a complete collection. Employing technology, we market your car to the broadest international audience possible. Art & Speed can also assist you in changing the composition of your current collection. We offer both buyer and seller agent services and can take your car to major auction events for maximum exposure.
Kevin has been a "car guy" since he was old enough to peer out the car windows, identifying every car by year, make and model. Over the years, he has built a reputation for building, owning and selling high quality collector cars. With a background in business, information technology and digital marketing, he has continued to pursue the art of classic automobiles as a hobby. After a successful career in the corporate world, Kevin decided to pursue his dream of owning and building a "different kind of business". Kevin sees vintage, classic and performance cars as an emotional interaction, merging the worlds of performance with the art of the automobile. Thus the vision for Art & Speed was born!
