1986 Ford Mustang GT Convertible – 22K Original Miles – 5.0L V8 – 5-Speed Manual
Offered here is an exceptionally well-preserved 1986 Ford Mustang GT Convertible showing just under 22K original miles. This low-mileage Fox Body is a true time capsule, retaining its original black paint and original gray cloth interior, making it an increasingly rare find for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
Finished in its factory black exterior, the paint still presents very well for its age and originality. While it shows nicely overall, a professional paint correction and detail would take the finish to the next level. The car sits on its original Ford Mustang 10-hole wheels wrapped in Primewell tires that have excellent tread remaining. Although the tires are older, they show no signs of dry rot and remain in excellent condition.
Under the hood is Ford's legendary fuel-injected 5.0L High Output V8 paired with the highly desirable 5-speed manual transmission, delivering the classic Fox Body driving experience that made these Mustangs so popular. The car starts easily, runs strong, shifts smoothly, and is an absolute pleasure to drive.
The original gray cloth bucket seat interior is truly one of this Mustang's highlights. It has been remarkably well cared for and looks nearly new throughout. The carpets have been protected by rubber floor mats since new, allowing them to remain in outstanding condition with very little visible wear. The black vinyl power convertible top also appears to have been exceptionally maintained, operating properly and presenting like new.
Nearly every feature on the car functions just as it should. The original factory radio is still in place, all gauges operate correctly, and the heater provides excellent heat. The only items currently needing attention are the air conditioning, which blows but does not blow cold, and the factory fog lights, which will require servicing to become operational again.
