The 1985 Toyota Celica GT-S is highly celebrated as the final model year of the rear-wheel-drive Celicas before the nameplate transitioned to a front-wheel-drive platform for 1986. Belonging to the third generation (A60), the GT-S trim was the top-tier, performance-oriented variant. It combined the ultra-reliable mechanicals of a Toyota truck with aggressive, 'Japanese Pony Car' styling reminiscent of the Ford Mustang.
