"Cruisin Classics is pleased to present to you this 1985 AMC Jeep CJ-7 Renegade. This Jeep is the perfect vehicle for fair-weather open air fun! The Flame Red paint is a respray of its original color and it is in good driver condition. Up front you'll find a gleaming chrome 7-slot vertical grille with round headlights in bright bezels. Beneath is an equally nice tubular chrome bumper with an overrider and KC Daylighter fog lights (with covers). The hood is adorned with gold ""RENEGADE"" decals in good condition that add to the sporty look. Both the hood and the fold-flat windshield have chrome hinges that pop in the light. Bright touches continue with the dual side mirrors and tubular side-step bars. Both sides of the Jeep feature black fender flares, gold ""JEEP"" lettering ahead of the doors, and removable hard doors with roll-up windows. Around back are another mirror-finish tubular chrome bumper, a tailgate with gold JEEP lettering, dual exhaust, and a tow-hitch receiver. Up top you'll find roll bars wrapped in padded tan vinyl and a black bikini top. This truck is being offered with a full tan soft-top with a frame, but the mounting hardware is incomplete and we are unable to attach it. This Jeep sits high and proud atop Prime 8-hole alloy wheels all wrapped in 35X13.50 R15 Toyo Open Country Tires. The tall stance of this CJ-7 comes courtesy of the large tires in conjunction with Rubicon shock absorbers on all 4 corners and 3"" leaf shackles up front and 4.5"" in the rear. Other suspension upgrades include quick-disconnect front swaybar links and a Rancho front steering stabilizer.
Under the curved hood is the highlight of this CJ-7 the original engine is gone and it's been replaced by an 8-cylinder LS Vortec engine! What an upgrade! While we have no details about the LS and no receipts for the swap, we can say with certainty that it runs strong and smooth and it looks like it was professionally done. The engine sounds fantastic as it rumbles through shorty headers and Flowmaster mufflers before exiting at the rear. The LS V-8 is mated up to a Muncie SM465 4-speed transmission with a creeper gear. Power travels through a Dana 20 transfer case to a stock AMC 20 rear axle and a stock Dana 30 front axle. Stopping power comes from power front disc and rear drum brakes.
Open the drivers door and step up into this Jeep to find a typically spartan interior. The hard doors are dressed with light brown vinyl door panels. There are bucket seats up front and a small bench in the rear all covered in tan vinyl. The drivers seat does have a couple of spots where a seam is starting to split, but all of the seats are in good overall condition. Between the front buckets is a metal center console box from Tuffy Security Products. It offers a padded armrest, two cupholders, and a large storage area. Inside the box is a Sony XM 502X amplifier, an original owners manual, and some Flame Red touch-up paint. Rising up from the floor ahead of the console box are shifters for the 4-speed transmission and for the 4-wheel drive. The 4-speed shifter has a black pattern ball and the 4WD has a black grenade for a ball both have black rubber boots. The floor is carpet-free, so you don't have to worry about messing it up with mud, sand, or stains. Ahead of the driver is a 3-spoke chrome and wood steering wheel that fronts a red painted dash topped with a crack-free tan vinyl dashpad. On the dash you'll find a speedometer with integrated fuel and temp gauges, working heater and fan controls, individual gauges for volts and oil pressure, a switch for the wipers (motor seems to work, arms do not move), and a tubular chrome grab-handle ahead of the passenger. Also in the dash is an Alpine CDM-98233 AM/FM/CD stereo that utilizes the aforementioned amplifier to play your favorite tunes through two Pioneer dash speakers and a pb (Power Bass) subwoofer box behind the rear seat. Mounted under the dash is a switch for the fog lights.
If you're in the market for a fair-weather Jeep CJ-7 that stands out from the crowd then check this one out! It has a fantastic look with an excellent color combo, bright chrome trim, an LS Vortec engine, 4-wheel drive, a manual transmission, power steering and brakes, a great high stance, and a decent sound system! Snatch this one up while you still can, because it surely won't be here for long!

Here at Cruisin Classics, we understand that you have many options when choosing where you purchase your classic, muscle or collector car and we would like to thank you for considering us.
Cruisin Classics has been buying and selling cars for many years.. The majority were your average daily drivers but our passion has always been in muscle cars and hot rods so in 1996, Cruisin Classics built a 56,000 sq.ft. showroom located in Columbus, OH that they still operate out of today. All of our vehicles are hand-picked and selected to ensure they fit our inventory. This facility is now arguably one of the best-stocked collections for sale in the US housing hundreds of unique automobiles all under one roof. We invite you to our facility! There is something for everybody when you come to visit.
After years of serving as central Ohio's premiere classic car dealer at Cruisin Classics Auto Sales, we saw an unfulfilled need that was not being met for our clients. We loved helping match our clients with the classic and American muscle cars of their dreams. But what about after the purchase? We recognized that our clients needed a trusted resource to continue to care for their classic vehicles. It did not sit well with us that our valued clients and their incredible vehicles were being outsourced to, sometimes several, third-party resources for maintenance and performance needs. We also wanted to help the many people that we had met over the years who already owned classic vehicles which were in need of restoration, upgrades, and maintenance. Too often, we were seeing vehicles with so much potential left sitting in garages under covers because their owners did not know who to turn to for such specialized work. It is our goal to offer our clients a truly comprehensive, seamless, and enjoyable classic car ownership experience, from purchase to maintenance to storage. Thus, Cruisin Classics Performance Center was born. We have cherry-picked the most talented, experienced, and passionate team of technicians to offer our clients a true one-stop-shop solution for any and all of their classic car needs. Our honest business model has lasted almost 25 years to date and Cruisin Classics has a worldwide reputation as one of the best in the business.
Outside of the shop, this business has afforded us the opportunity to be actively involved in our community and fulfill our goal of supporting several local and national organizations that hold a special place in our hearts. We are proud sponsors of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus, the Columbus USO, Honor Flight, Special Olympics, multiple car clubs, and much more.
In conclusion, 100% customer satisfaction is our main goal. Always has been.. always will be. We would like to invite anyone considering one of our vehicles to come to our beautiful facility to inspect the car in person or send somebody on your behalf.
