1984 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Campmobile Pop-Top For Sale
* Westfalia Camper * Illness Forces Sale * Loaded with Extra Parts *California Van
The owner is reluctantly offering the Westfalia for sale after being involved in a serious automobile accident that has left him unable to drive. As a result, the Van is priced to sell Fast. It could use a fresh wash after sitting so long.
Adventure awaits with this classic 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Campmobile, one of the most recognizable and sought-after camper vans ever built. Originally a California vehicle, this Westfalia has retained a remarkably straight body with none of the typical rust issues often found on East Coast examples. Showing 110,522 miles, this Vanagon offers an excellent foundation for restoration or a rewarding camper project.
The iconic Westfalia pop-top is in very nice condition, with clean canvas that sets up quickly to provide additional sleeping space and headroom. Inside, the camper remains well preserved and retains the practical layout that has made Westfalias favorites among campers and road-trippers for decades.
The interior features comfortable seating that easily converts into a bed, simulated cork flooring, a clean headliner, two swing-away tables, and plenty of storage throughout. The factory kitchenette is complete with a refrigerator, stove, sink, and additional storage compartments, making it ready for camping once the vehicle is back on the road. Also included are the original owner's manuals.
This Westfalia has been sitting for some time and required a battery charge to start. The engine runs, but the van is not currently roadworthy because it needs a new coolant expansion tank, causing it to run hot. The good news is that a brand-new replacement expansion tank is included with the sale.
One of the biggest highlights of this Vanagon is the extensive collection of spare parts and accessories that accompany it. Included are a brand-new outdoor awning, mosquito netting, a GoWesty air pump, extra curtains, new weather stripping with adhesive, replacement turn signal lenses, trays, door handles, a fuel pump, carburetor, and numerous additional parts that will benefit the next owner.
The exterior would benefit from a thorough cleaning after being stored, while the only notable cosmetic imperfection mentioned is a slight delamination of the interior rearview mirror.
Finding an original California Westfalia with a solid body and an extensive inventory of included parts is becoming increasingly difficult. Whether you're looking to restore a classic camper, build the ultimate adventure van, or invest in one of Volkswagen's most beloved icons.
Our Consignor was in the Hospital for 6 Months and his Health Issues are Forcing the Sale of his Westfalia presenting an outstanding opportunity for the next buyer.
