*1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi*Ferrari has long been known as a company that builds successful race cars and stunning, fast road vehicles. But it wasnt until the 308s debut and prime placement in numerous high-profile TV shows in the 1980s, that the brand became a household name. Penned by famed Italian styling house Pininfarina, the 308 was the brands first 2-seater with a mid-mounted V8, a layout that became the brands most popular for decades to come. This 1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi is finished in the quintessential Ferrari color combination of Rosso Corsa over a beige leather interior and shows just 40,738 miles at the time of cataloging. The 308 was offered in two body styles - the GTB which was a closed coupe, or the GTS with a removable targa top. The latter GTS was by far the more popular choice as the pop out roof panel allowed you to enjoy the sound of the sonorous V8 behind you, and was simple to take out and store behind the seats. Since new the car has been kept in remarkably original condition, sitting on classic 16-inch 5-spoke wheels and with the classically 1980s pop-up headlights at the front. This Ferrari was delivered new at the Sports Car Exchange in Dearborn, MI and was acquired by the consignor in 2012 who purchased it from his brother-in-law. Many of these 308s have passed through a considerable number of owners over the years, with paperwork and documentation getting lost along the way. But this car is an exception, offered with irreplaceable items like the original window sticker, original purchase agreement, books including a stamped service booklet, and a large 3-ring binder with additional service invoices from throughout the cars history. The interior is finished in beige leather with matching beige carpeting and a black leather wrapped dashboard. The black Nardi steering wheel has a leather wrapped rim and frames a 180 mph speedometer and tachometer with a 7,700 rpm redline. In the center console sits a water temp gauge, HVAC controls and the shifter for the often discussed gated 5-speed manual with a dogleg first gear. The overall interior condition is remarkable for a car of this age with the leather showing negligible wear and the steering wheel looking almost new.Powering the 308 is a 2.9-liter DOHC V8 mounted transversely behind the passenger compartment. The i in 308 GTSi means that this is one of the first generation of fuel injected 308s, utilizing a Bosch K-Jetronic system like many cars of the era. This engine was rated from the factory as producing 205 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque which is plenty to make the car feel lively behind the wheel. Prior to being offered for sale, this car received a timing belt service at local exotic specialists Veloce Motorsports in Kirkland, WA to ensure this car is ready to be enjoyed. Power is sent through a 5-speed manual transaxle to a limited slip differential at the rear wheels. This car still feels quick today and when driving on a winding back road, the driver engagement it offers is pretty much unmatched by any car you could go to a dealership and buy new.If you have been looking for your entry into vintage Ferrari ownership, or have always wanted to live out your Magnum PI fantasies, this 308 checks all the boxes. With careful ownership from new and a recent mechanical freshening including the timing belt, this car is ready to be enjoyed and cherished by its new caretaker and will become the centerpiece in nearly any garage.*Key Features* * 2.9-liter V8 * 205 Horsepower/180 Lb-Ft of Torque * Fresh Timing Belt Service at Veloce Motorsport * 5-Speed Manual Gearbox * Gated Shifter With Dogleg 1st Gear * 40,738 Miles * Extensive Ownership Documentation * GTS Bodystyle with Removable Targa Roof * Air Conditioning * Limited Slip Differential * Quad Exit Exhaust * Fully Independent Suspension * Four-Wheel Ventilated Disc Brakes*Additional Information* * Original Window Sticker * Original Purchase/Lease Order * Books and Manuals * Serv
