This 1980 Chevrolet Corvette has been professionally upgraded with a meticulously built 355 cubic-inch Chevrolet Small Block V8, combining classic C3 styling with dependable street performance and modern drivability. Built using premium components throughout, this Corvette delivers outstanding horsepower, broad torque, and the reliability to be enjoyed on the street or highway.
Engine & Performance
Originally based on a Chevrolet L48 350, the engine has been professionally bored .030- inch over to create 355 cubic inches of displacement. The rotating assembly has been completely balanced and features a factory Chevrolet crankshaft machined .010/.010, Scat 5.700-inch forged steel connecting rods, TRW forged .030 flat-top pistons, and Speed Pro rings and bearings. Compression is a street-friendly 8.7:1, making it ideal for premium pump gas while leaving room for future performance upgrades if desired.
The bottom end is reinforced with an ARP main stud kit and utilizes a Cloyes double roller timing chain, Melling Z-28 high-volume/high-pressure oil pump, and Moroso 6-quart oil pan for exceptional durability and oil control.
Cylinder Heads & Valvetrain
The engine is topped with GM 76cc cast-iron cylinder heads featuring 1.94-inch intake valves, upgraded stainless steel valves, Comp Cams performance valve springs and retainers, roller rocker arms, and performance pushrods.
A Lunati hydraulic camshaft and lifter kit (Part #1012701) provides excellent street manners while delivering strong low- and mid-range torque.

This combination produces excellent throttle response, smooth idle characteristics, and outstanding drivability.
Fuel, Ignition & Exhaust
Fuel delivery comes from a ProForm 750 CFM Double Pumper Holley carburetor mounted on a ProForm aluminum performance intake manifold.
Ignition is handled by an HEI distributor upgraded with an MSD cap and rotor, along with premium ignition wires for dependable spark delivery.
The engine breathes through Hooker long-tube headers connected to a 21/2-inch dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, producing the unmistakable sound of a healthy small- block Chevrolet.
Transmission & Drivetrain
Backing the built 355 is a 700R4 four-speed automatic overdrive transmission, providing significantly improved highway cruising compared to the factory transmission.
The transmission has been upgraded with:
