Since September 1999, Street Dreams Texas has been bringing classic American muscle and collector cars to enthusiasts around the world. Finished in black, this K5 wears its age with character, including visible patina across the roof and upper edges of the body. Those areas have been sealed, preserving the look while helping protect the metal, while the hood has been repainted to a very nice standard. The contrast between the weathered upper surfaces and the cleaner hood gives the Blazer an honest, well-used appearance rather than trying to hide every trace of its history. New tires help complete the stance, and underneath the classic bodywork is a rebuilt 350 V8 paired with a TH400 automatic transmission. Power steering and power brakes make it considerably easier to enjoy on the road, while an aluminum radiator helps keep the V8 properly cooled. The engine also produces the kind of aggressive, unmistakably classic V8 sound that immediately gives this Blazer some attitude.
Inside, the truck gets considerably more distinctive. The custom interior is upholstered in black-and-white Houndstooth with red accents, including red interior panels, a red dashboard, and red carpet. Dakota Digital gauges add a modern touch without taking away from the vintage character, while aftermarket air conditioning makes the cabin more comfortable. Power windows and power door locks add convenience, and the overall combination of Houndstooth, black, and red gives this Blazer a look that is both period-inspired and unmistakably custom.
The K5's four-wheel-drive configuration, strong V8, TH400 transmission, power accessories, custom interior, and combination of preserved patina and refreshed details make it a particularly interesting example of the classic Blazer formula. The vehicle appears to have functioning equipment throughout with the exception of the speedometer; a small portable plug-in speedometer is included with the vehicle as a functional workaround.
