1980 BMW 323i For Sale - Beautifully Restored By Marque Experts, 2.3-Liter Inline-Six LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1980 BMW 323i The BMW 323i of 1980 represented the pinnacle of the E21 3 Series lineup and quickly became a benchmark for compact performance sedans. Introduced as the first true sporting variant of the 3 Series, the 323i combined classic BMW engineering with a more powerful six-cylinder engine, creating a car that delivered both refinement and spirited driving dynamics. At its heart was a 2.3-liter inline-six engine producing approximately 143 horsepower, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Thanks to Bosch fuel injection, the 323i provided smooth power delivery and excellent throttle response for its era. Its light weight and well-balanced chassis gave the car superb handling, cementing BMW’s reputation as the “Ultimate Driving Machine.” This example offered here for sale has been beautifully restored by marque experts finished in the iconic Chamonix White paint. Inside the cabin features a grey cloth interior with Recaro buckets, a sport steering wheel, radio and more. The engine compartment has been nicely detailed with correct cadmium and zinc coatings highlighting the 2.3 six cylinder engine. Underneath this special BMW is extremely clean and tidy, highlighting the lack of use in poor climate. Over the painted floors is the original style Cosmoline coating, ensuring the undercarriage is protected for years to come. Finishing the look and performance of the classic E21 are a set of 15 inch Alpina spoked wheels wrapped in Verdestein modern radial tires. As the top model in the E21 range, the 323i offered a driving experience far ahead of many of its contemporaries. Today, it stands as a highly desirable classic, valued for its role in establishing the performance legacy of the 3 Series and for being one of the earliest compact BMWs to feature a six-cylinder engine. -
