Cruisin Classics is pleased to present to you this 1979 Pontiac Firebird Formula. This Firebird comes to us today wearing a respray of its original color – Atlantis Blue – in good driver quality condition. The view of this Pontiac from the front is a real eye-catcher, with dual faux hood scoops highlighted with a darker blue and accented with 3-tone blue striping, dual side-by-side inset rectangular headlights, and a darker blue grille and front fascia beneath. Looking down the sides, you'll see a dark blue lower body section separated from the Atlantis blue by more 3-tone striping. In this lower section, on the doors are ""FORMULA"" decals in good condition. Adding to the sporty profile are dual body-color side mirrors with striping, bright window trim and door handles, Firebird fender badging, and a Firebird decal on the C-pillar. The wheels and tires perfectly complement the look with blue and grey factory Rally wheels wrapped in white-letter Cooper Cobra Radial GT tires. Cool styling continues at the rear with an iconic 3-piece rear spoiler featuring more accent striping and ""FORMULA"" lettering on the back side. Beneath is a black horizontally louvered panel with integrated taillights and a centered hidden gas fill door, and a dark blue lower fascia that mimics the front.
Under the hood is a clean black engine bay that's home to a 4.9-liter 301ci V-8 – the standard engine for the Formula in '79. The Pontiac blue block is topped off with matching blue valve covers and intake, a 2-barrel carburetor, and a black OEM air cleaner. Other highlights include power steering, working factory A/C, a newer alternator, and a newer battery. The V-8 sends power to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly. Exhaust flows from cast manifolds through a single muffler to create a nice rumble. Stopping power comes courtesy of power front disc and rear drum brakes.
Open the driver's door, and the working dome light pops on to illuminate a standard black vinyl interior (19R) with bucket seats (A51). The original-looking black door panels are in good condition and feature bright accents and a driver's mirror toggle. Seating up front is buckets, and in the rear, it's bucket bottoms with a bench back. The black vinyl seats are comfortable and in very good condition. Splitting the front seats is a center console with an armrest/storage box and a shifter for the automatic transmission. Ahead of the driver is a black 3-spoke OEM steering wheel with a working horn on a fixed column. The dash is topped with a crack-free black vinyl pad and features a cool machine-turned aluminum gauge bezel. The round gauges include oil, water temp, fuel, volts, a clock (inop.), and a 100mph speedometer. The odometer reads 27,253 miles and the title confirms that to be the actual mileage. Also within the bezel are controls for the working 2-speed hideaway wipers, a pull knob for the lights, and factory controls for the HVAC system that offers cold A/C and hot heat with a decent fan. In the center of the dash is a retro-sound style stereo (inop.), an ashtray, and a storage slot. Ahead of the passenger in the glovebox is an original owner's manual. Overhead is a perforated black vinyl headliner, and underfoot is nice-looking black carpet. Around back in the trunk, you'll find a carpeted floor, a spare tire, a laminated wiring diagram, two old 6X9 speakers, a couple of pieces of old body side molding, and a set of rubber floormats.
If you're looking to step back in time to the late '70s and enjoy cruising a cool car of the era, this 1979 Pontiac Firebird Formula is just what the doctor ordered! The body style is iconic, the mileage is low, the interior is in great condition, and it's loaded with features like factory A/C, power steering, and power front disc brakes! Best of all, it's a classic that won't break the bank! Give our friendly staff a call and make this Firebird your own!

Here at Cruisin Classics, we understand that you have many options when choosing where you purchase your classic, muscle or collector car and we would like to thank you for considering us.
Cruisin Classics has been buying and selling cars for many years.. The majority were your average daily drivers but our passion has always been in muscle cars and hot rods so in 1996, Cruisin Classics built a 56,000 sq.ft. showroom located in Columbus, OH that they still operate out of today. All of our vehicles are hand-picked and selected to ensure they fit our inventory. This facility is now arguably one of the best-stocked collections for sale in the US housing hundreds of unique automobiles all under one roof. We invite you to our facility! There is something for everybody when you come to visit.
After years of serving as central Ohio's premiere classic car dealer at Cruisin Classics Auto Sales, we saw an unfulfilled need that was not being met for our clients. We loved helping match our clients with the classic and American muscle cars of their dreams. But what about after the purchase? We recognized that our clients needed a trusted resource to continue to care for their classic vehicles. It did not sit well with us that our valued clients and their incredible vehicles were being outsourced to, sometimes several, third-party resources for maintenance and performance needs. We also wanted to help the many people that we had met over the years who already owned classic vehicles which were in need of restoration, upgrades, and maintenance. Too often, we were seeing vehicles with so much potential left sitting in garages under covers because their owners did not know who to turn to for such specialized work. It is our goal to offer our clients a truly comprehensive, seamless, and enjoyable classic car ownership experience, from purchase to maintenance to storage. Thus, Cruisin Classics Performance Center was born. We have cherry-picked the most talented, experienced, and passionate team of technicians to offer our clients a true one-stop-shop solution for any and all of their classic car needs. Our honest business model has lasted almost 25 years to date and Cruisin Classics has a worldwide reputation as one of the best in the business.
Outside of the shop, this business has afforded us the opportunity to be actively involved in our community and fulfill our goal of supporting several local and national organizations that hold a special place in our hearts. We are proud sponsors of the Kiwanis Club of Columbus, the Columbus USO, Honor Flight, Special Olympics, multiple car clubs, and much more.
In conclusion, 100% customer satisfaction is our main goal. Always has been.. always will be. We would like to invite anyone considering one of our vehicles to come to our beautiful facility to inspect the car in person or send somebody on your behalf.
