1978 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - Incredible Survivor With Only 28,685 Miles, Numbers Matching, Documented General Motors introduced the second-generation Chevy Camaro for the 1970 model year, with production lasting until 1981. In addition to being lower, longer, and wider than the preceding first-generation model, the second-gen Camaro offered a more refined approach to both comfort and performance. GM discontinued the Z28 option on the Camaro in 1975 in the face of tightening emissions regulation and returned in 1977, with a large increase in sales for the Pontiac Trans Am.In the 1978 model year introduced a new body-colored urethane front and rear bumper, with Chevy Camaro Z28 models featuring a non-functioning hood scoop. The hood scoop was underlined with a set of decals emphasizing its pointed, narrow shape. This 1978 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 offered here for sale was purchased at Pennington Chevrolet Co in Mocksville, North Carolina by its original owner. Finished in Code 75L Red with a matching Code 74R Carmine bucket seat interior is a stunning combination. Power comes from the numbers matching LM1 350ci V8 paired with the numbers matching four speed manual transmission sending power to a 3.73 rear axle. Optional equipment includes door edge moldings, air conditioning, console, power steering, power brakes and Am/Fm stereo. Throughout the years this amazing original survivor Z28 has accumulated only 28,685 miles from new and remains in incredible original condition. Still wearing its original code 75L Red paint and retaining its original Carmine Red Bucket seat interior. The underside still wears the factory applied red oxide primer which shows this example was never driven in any harsh conditions and always properly stored by previous ownership. The original unused collapsible spare in the trunk, also has a nitrogen bottle, the factory jack assembly still in the trunk,. The original factory trunk splatter is still great looking under the factory trunk mat. It also still retains its rare ‘Chevrolet Western’ gold factory alloy wheels with ‘made in USA’ stamped on them.
