"""The 1977 Porsche 911S Targa is a defining sports car from Porsche's ""G-Body"" era, celebrated for combining open-air driving flexibility with the structural safety of a fixed roll bar. The word Targa means ""shield"" or ""plate"" in Italian, but Porsche chose it to honor their racing legacy. Porsche dominated the Targa Florio, an incredibly grueling, open-road endurance race held in the mountains of Sicily. The name perfectly linked open-top road driving with high-performance motorsport history.""
This 1977 Porsche 911S Targa is finished in the rare color of Sienna Metallic over a Cork leatherette interior. It is powered by the legendary 2.7-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine, factory rated at 165 horsepower and 176 lb.-ft of torque and paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The 2.7-liter motor was rebuilt in 2006 at 123,487 miles by Stuttgart Northeast and continues to run smoothly. This 911 has been continuously maintained and upgraded as needed and is well documented.
The Sienna Metallic paint, although twenty plus years old, maintains a great shine and is void of any apparent corrosion but is showing signs of age degradation. The Cork interior shows well and appears mostly in factory configuration with the exception of an upgraded Pioneer stereo. Although originally an AC car the components have been removed.
The underside of this Porsche 911S appears in original condition with no obvious deterioration or corrosion.
The 15"" Fuchs wheels are wrapped in newer Bridgestone tires.
Please note sometime after the motor was rebuilt the odometer stopped working at 125,355 miles which are now indicated on the odometer.
This well-maintained 1977 Porsche 911S Targa is ready for its next Porsche meet or simply a spirited drive down a winding road. Either way, it is sure to put a smile on your face.
