This 1977 Porsche 911S is a truly unique custom build, crafted with incredible attention to detail and vision by Northern California Porsche hot rod builder Dink Farmer. Featuring radical metalwork including a chopped-top roof, recessed headlights, and wide 911 Turbo fender flares, this 911 stands out as a bespoke work of automotive art. It was discovered unfinished in Southern California by the current seller and his two brotherslongtime Porsche enthusiasts with over 45 years of experience building and modifying classic 911s. Together, they completed the project, finishing the restoration of the 3.2-liter Carrera engine, fitting a new upgraded suspension and 996 Turbo brakes, and installing 18 Fikse wheels for a modernized yet purposeful stance.
Under prior ownership, the car underwent extensive custom fabrication believed to have been completed by Farmer himself. The most striking element is its 3-inch lowered roofline, which required intricate reworking of the quarter panels, rear window openings, and upper body sections. The front and rear received genuine steel 930 Turbo fender flares, while the headlights were recessedor Frenchedinto the fenders for a sleek, sculpted look. Fiberglass bumpers and a Carrera-style rear spoiler were added to complete the exterior transformation. The windshield is sourced from a 911 Speedster, emphasizing its low, aggressive profile. The seller notes the absence of filler or Bondo anywhere on the car, reflecting the quality of its all-metal craftsmanship.
The current owners completed the car's window framing and fitment, investing over 80 hours to finalize the Lexan side windows and powder-coated frames, ensuring smooth operation and proper weather sealing. Finished in a gray paint color applied approximately 20 years ago, the car presents a raw, purposeful aesthetic accented by 917-style mirrors and red highlights across the oil cooler grille, cowl vent, brake calipers, and roof stripe. It sits on satin black 18 Fikse wheels adorned with red anodized hardware and wrapped in new tires installed two years ago. Although the finish shows some minor imperfections, the car retains a striking and aggressive presence.
Inside, the cabin has been freshly reimagined to match the car's bespoke character. It features new carpeting, leather RS-style door panels, and low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather with houndstooth insertsa classic Porsche racing touch. Additional details include a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, red seatbelts, pull straps, a fire extinguisher, and a 911SC dashboard equipped with vintage Heuer rally timers. Every detail is cohesive, blending motorsport heritage with contemporary craftsmanship.
Power comes from a rebuilt 3.2-liter Carrera flat-six engine that was completely overhauled under current ownership. The rebuild included reconditioned cylinder heads, new pistons, updated fuel injection rails, fresh wiring and oil lines, and polished intake manifolds. Exhaust gases exit through a custom early-style dual-inlet muffler with 2.5 pipes, creating a deep, distinctive tone. A front-mounted TRE Motorsports oil cooler provides improved thermal management, ensuring the engine remains reliable under spirited driving conditions.
Mated to a rebuilt 5-speed 915 manual transmission with new synchros, clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel, this 911 delivers an engaging, analog driving experience true to its heritage. The upgraded suspension and anti-roll bar sharpen the handling, while 996 Turbo calipers and cross-drilled rotors provide modern braking performance. With only 621 miles driven since the completion of its restoration, this custom 1977 Porsche 911 represents a unique fusion of artistry, performance, and decades of Porsche passiona one-off creation that bridges vintage style with modern engineering.
