Survivor Alert - 50K miles | # Matching "XA" 400 V8 | WS4 RPO | Brentwood Brown Poly | Buckskin Bucket Seat Interior | Power Steering | Power Disc Brakes | PHS Report |LaFontaine Classic Cars is proud to present this exceptionally well-preserved 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, a highly original example of one of America's most recognizable muscle cars. Finished in its factory-correct Brentwood Brown Poly exterior over a Buckskin (Saddle) bucket seat interior, this Trans Am is documented with a PHS Report and carries the desirable WS4 RPO code.Power comes from its original 400ci Pontiac V8, paired with a TH400 automatic transmission and Positraction rear differential. Equipped with power steering and power front disc brakes, this Trans Am delivers the unmistakable driving experience that made these second-generation F-bodies legendary. What truly separates this example is its remarkable history and preservation. The car comes from more than 33 years of previous ownership, with an especially compelling connection to its original owner. The longtime owner's friend purchased the car new from Orson Coe Pontiac in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the vehicle was subsequently cared for and preserved throughout its life. The 50,049 miles are represented as accurate by the previous owner, and remarkably, the car has never been repainted. The Brentwood Brown Poly finish remains original, allowing the next owner to appreciate the car exactly as it has survived for nearly five decades. As should be expected from an unrestored vehicle of this age, there are a few paint chips and some checking in the iconic "screaming chicken" graphics but these imperfections are an honest part of the car's originality rather than something hidden beneath a restoration. The undercarriage tells an equally compelling story. The vehicle was properly undercoated when new, helping preserve the chassis and structure over the years. In areas where portions of the undercoating have been removed, the factory red oxide primer remains visible underneath. Even the original exhaust system remains in place. The muffler does have some holes, but rather than automatically replacing the entire system and discarding an original component, we have left that decision to the next owner as we've changed these out in the past and had people request the original.Inside, the Buckskin interior presents exceptionally well and has been carefully preserved. The gauges are functioning, as are the vehicle's safety and convenience features, including the lights, horn, and turn signals. Even the factory radio remains operational and plays as expected. In preparation for its next chapter, the Trans Am has received thoughtful servicing and maintenance. The shocks, fluids, gaskets, hoses, belts, master cylinder, brake fluid, engine oil, and filter have all been addressed to help ensure this Pontiac is ready to be enjoyed with confidence! This is not an over-restored Trans Am attempting to recreate the past. It is an honest, highly original, carefully maintained survivor with documented equipment, long-term ownership history, original paint, its original drivetrain, and the kind of preservation that is becoming increasingly difficult to find. For more information give us a call at 248-714-2110 or email us at [email protected]

With a deep passion for all things automotive, LaFontaine Classic Cars celebrates the storied automotive heritage of the Motor City and looks to make the classic car of your dreams a reality.
Founded by Michael LaFontaine Sr. and his two grandsons, Zackary and Mackenzie Hinsperger, LaFontaine Classic Cars offers guests an unmatched offering of iconic classic vehicles – from weekend cruisers to Concours quality show vehicles.
Just prior to the passing of the matriarch of LaFontaine Automotive Group, Maureen LaFontaine, the building in downtown Milford became available and it was the ideal location to launch LaFontaine Classic Cars. The attention to detail and automotive nostalgia throughout is a tribute to Maureen and her everlasting legacy.
The showroom aims to bring buyers back in time to a more classic feel. In addition to all the vehicles in the showroom, the space is decorated with vintage signs from vehicle brands of the past. Not only are there vehicles in the building, but the parking lot to the south contains many others available for purchase.
Michael Sr. commented, “This area is prefect for us as we have a lot of roots in Milford and absolutely love this quaint downtown. We look forward to welcoming fellow automotive enthusiasts through our showroom doors and they can expect to receive the same Family Deal feeling people have come to expect at any of our other dealerships. It’s all about personalizing the experience and having fun at the same time.”
LaFontaine Classic Cars acquires vehicles several ways, with a majority of them coming through auction and Michael Sr.’s personal collection.
The shop is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. More information, including an online listing of vehicles, can be found at lafontaineclassiccars.com.
