The standard setup was the L48 350ci/180hp V8 with 3-spd Turbo 400 automatic transmission. You could also choose the M20 wide ratio 4-spd. manual for the L48. But if you wanted a bit more forward momentum, then you could order the L82 350ci/210hp V8. The automatic was available with that engine, as well. But for some buyers, only the close ratio M21 4-spd. would do!
