1977 Chevrolet Corvette The Corvette was introduced by Chevrolet in 1953 and they were off to the races from there! They have been produced ever since and are among the most popular sports cars on the road today. They are still considered sport cars but the current generations are starting to fall more in line with supercars. They were known for their performance and distinctive styling. They had multiple generations where the look changed almost entirely throughout their run. The C3 Corvette was the third generation and was the 2nd to carry the name "Stingray." Looking at those bodylines it is clear why this name was selected. Even more than the previous generation the C3 with their thin pointed nose is clearly a nod to its animal namesake. This one was manufactured in March 1977. The body is in good shape and painted in Corvette Dark Red which is the correct 83 color code. There is no evidence of any accident history. It wears the L-88 style hood and also has the original style luggage rack on the rear. The hidden headlights do open and operate properly as does the iconic circle taillights in back. The T Tops are nicely mounted in place and was a cool feature for these cars as you essentially had the best of both worlds with a Coupe/Convertible combo so you can switch it up depending on the weather. It rides on a set of original YJ8 aluminum wheels with Corvette center caps and new Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. Turning the tires is a built up 383 stroker that provides plenty of power. This is thought to be the original base motor that was rebuilt and turned into a stroker motor. It is fitted with a chrome air cleaner, 4 barrel carburetor, Edelbrock manifold, Brodix valve covers, an Accel distributor and Taylor pro race wires. The car runs very strong and the engine is paired with an L82 4 speed that shifts well. It has a positraction rear end with 3:73 gears so runs both around town and down the highway well. It has power disc brakes under all 4 corners and the brakes have been gone through with new calipers installed. It is also a power steering and AC car. The shocks and rear strut rod bushings have been replaced as well. It really is a fun driver. The interior is in good condition and done in its original code 192 Black leather. On the inside it is all mostly stock with its original gauges that work properly. On the center console you will find the Hurst shifter topped off with a White knob. Behind the bucket seats you will find storage compartments one of which houses the red top Optima battery. This is a fun affordable classic that is sure to put a smile on your face and comes with a clear Texas title. Give it a new home for $16,500.00!
