Zoom Classic Cars presents this 1976 MG MGB Roadster. The MG MGB is one of the most recognizable British sports cars ever produced, with more than 500,000 examples built between 1962 and 1980. Its timeless styling, responsive handling, simple mechanical design, and affordable ownership have made it a favorite among enthusiasts for generations. Whether cruising scenic back roads or attending local car shows, the MGB continues to deliver the pure open-air driving experience that made British roadsters famous.Offered here is a 1976 MG MGB Roadster finished in Crimson Red with a Black vinyl interior, owned and well maintained by the current owner for the past 14 years. This is a better-than-driver-quality example that has been regularly serviced, garage kept, and thoughtfully upgraded while retaining its classic character. Power comes from the dependable 1.8L inline four-cylinder engine with Weber Carb believed to have been rebuilt prior to the current owner\'s purchase, backed by a 4-speed manual transmission (without overdrive). The factory emissions equipment has been removed, allowing the engine to breathe more freely and providing a more traditional MGB driving experience. The odometer currently reads 33,357 miles, although actual mileage is believed to have exceeded its mechanical limits. Over the years, numerous mechanical improvements have been completed, including replacement of the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, along with the installation of a new gas tank and radiator. Much of the maintenance has been performed by Brown\'s British Imports of Plymouth, Massachusetts, a respected British car specialist. The interior is clean, featuring black vinyl bucket seats with no rips or tears, complemented by a handsome wood steering wheel and matching wood shift knob. Modern convenience comes from a retro-style AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, enhanced by two additional door-mounted speakers while maintaining a period-correct appearance. Additional upgrades include: Upgraded headlights, Headlight relays, Newer horn, New black manual convertible top installed approximately three years ago with Matching tonneau cover included. The exterior presents very well with body panels that line up nicely and attractive Crimson Red paint. As expected of a well-enjoyed classic, there are minor scratches, chips, and imperfections including some bubbling on the bottom corner of the driver\'s side door as shown that is consistent with age, and some weather stripping could benefit from attention. Opening the trunk which is fitted with an optional luggage rack, reveals a clean, solid, carpeted luggage compartment complete with rear-mounted radio speakers, jack equipment, extra wheel rim and cover and excellent overall presentation. The car rides on original steel rally wheels fitted with Yokohama Avid Touring S tires that are approximately four years old and have traveled less than 500 miles since installation. Underneath, the chassis is clean and solid with only typical light surface rust visible. 1976 MGBs didn\'t come with a sway bar, but a new one from Moss Motors was added by the current owner greatly increasing the car\'s handling and cornering. The car starts easily, shifts smoothly, and drives exactly as an MGB should, making it equally suited for weekend cruises, local British car events, or simply enjoying top-down motoring on a sunny day. Included with the sale are are a clean Massachusetts title in the owner\'s name, electrical system diagram, service manuals, older car cover and a Craftsman creeper as shown. This is a well-cared-for, honest MGB that benefits from long-term ownership, documented maintenance, tasteful upgrades, and careful storage. It offers the unmistakable charm and simplicity that have made the MGB one of the most beloved classic sports cars in the world.
