1972 Super Beetle was purchased in California and driven by my daughter and son in law while stationed at Camp Pendelton. It caught fire when the fuel filter ruptured and damaged the engine. We shipped it to Michigan in 1998 and put a new crate motor in it. It was stored until it went to a painter a few years later. He had disassembled it (windows out, all the trim off, etc) and painted it when he had serious health problems. It was covered and pushed aside in his garage until 2018 when I retrieved it and started the gradual process of putting it back together. The following was done: -new fuel pump and carburetor -electronic ignition -new brakes including master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes, drums, and the flexible brake lines -transaxle fluid changed -gas tank cleaned and inspected. Vent lines removed, capped or rerouted per the J'bugs recommended process. New level sending unit. -relocated fuel filter out of engine compartment -complete new interior including headliner. Seats rebuilt for additional support. New track slides. -glass reinstalled, including new windshield -heater/defroster fan rebuilt -new shocks and struts, including strut springs -tune up on engine. The mechanic that did the tune up, shocks and struts asked to remove the aftermarket carburetor and allow him to rebuild the original carburetor as he believed he could get a better tune. This is a solid, original steel, no rust ever car. It was always in California or Arizona until we brough tit to Michigan in 1998. With the new shocks and struts, and a great engine tune, it drives really well. With the new interior, the door mounted speakers were removed and not replaced, so the stereo does not work. the dash pad does have cracks. I've had 3 bugs, and this one always was the best driver. Being the last of my Bugs, i will include any spare parts, extra parts and numerous VW air cooled manuals I have (if wanted). Please Note The Following **Vehicle Location is at our clients home
