This 1972 Ford Bronco is a heavily upgraded first-generation example combining classic Bronco styling with a stronger drivetrain, modern suspension components, improved highway manners, and a long list of functional upgrades.
Finished in vivid PPG orange, the body is accented by a white grille, white riveted fender flares, bright exterior trim, and chrome door hardware. The black Bestop soft top gives the Bronco the flexibility to be driven fully enclosed or opened up for fair-weather use. A substantial tubular front bumper incorporates a stinger-style brush guard along with a pair of KC auxiliary lights, while tubular side steps provide easier entry into the lifted cabin. Out back is a swing-away spare tire carrier carrying a matching full-size wheel and tire.
Power comes from a Ford 302 V8 upgraded with Edelbrock E-Street aluminum heads, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, and an Edelbrock AVS2 four-barrel carburetor. Ignition duties are handled by an MSD setup that includes a Digital 6AL ignition control and MSD distributor. An Edelbrock open-element air cleaner finishes off the top side of the engine.
The 302 is paired with an AODE automatic overdrive transmission, a major usability upgrade for a Bronco that may see both around-town and highway driving. The transmission is clearly identifiable underneath by its Ford automatic-overdrive pan. Exhaust gases exit through headers and a Borla muffler system, while cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator. Power steering and power-assisted disc brakes further improve drivability.
The suspension has been substantially upgraded with a 5-inch Duff lift kit and Duff components front and rear. The photographs also show Pro Comp MX6 monotube shocks, heavy-duty leaf springs at the rear, solid axles front and rear, and a traditional Bronco four-wheel-drive layout. WARN manual locking hubs allow the front axle to be engaged as needed.
The Bronco rides on polished Alcoa aluminum wheels wrapped in 33x12.50R15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires, providing the stance expected from a properly lifted early Bronco without overwhelming the proportions of the body.
Inside, the cabin has been upgraded around a pair of custom-ordered Corbeau front bucket seats along with a matching Corbeau rear seat. The full roll cage surrounds the passenger compartment, and an aftermarket center console adds storage and cupholders. Additional upgrades include an aftermarket steering wheel, a column-mounted tachometer, aftermarket A/C vents, and a Kenwood stereo system.
The interior also retains several familiar early-Bronco styling cues, including the large central speedometer and simple horizontal dashboard layout. A glovebox-mounted fuse panel provides organized access to the electrical system, and the Bronco is accompanied by an owner's manual.
Underneath, the photos show a solid-frame chassis configuration, dual fuel tanks, four-wheel-drive hardware, the AODE transmission, and the upgraded suspension system. The exhaust is neatly routed rearward with Borla components, while the lifted stance provides substantial ground clearance.
With its 302 V8, Edelbrock aluminum heads and AVS2 carburetor, MSD ignition, AODE overdrive transmission, power steering, power brakes, 5-inch Duff suspension, Corbeau seating, air conditioning, and PPG paint, this 1972 Bronco is set up as a versatile classic that retains the unmistakable look of an early Ford while adding many of the mechanical and comfort upgrades buyers want in a driver-quality build.
