72 454 SS - This car is to drive! Frame off rebuild - LS5 matching numbers. New clutch, belts, holly double pumper carb, new power steering pump, alternator, water pump, radiator, battery, complete rear end rebuild, tune up and all new fluids - A/C serviced, tinted glass, new windshield (not a mark on it) and new paint job within the last year. Not a scratch on it! I even replaced the window on the passenger side because there were a few scratches on it. I bought the car with about 500 miles on the rebuilt engine. Interior is immaculate - the previous owner told me Jay Lenos car guys completely refurbished the interior. Great stereo (new speakers) and an in-dash 8 track. I bought this car from Restomods one day after it was offered for sale after the car had been raffled and the winner took the cash and the owner put it on the market (01/31/2019). Since then I have driven the car about 1,000 miles in town and on the highway and have worked through all performance issues normally found in collector cars that sit in storage for years - with the best muscle car mechanic I could find, Jason Rooks, Rooks Automotive, Brunswick, GA - see all the replaced parts above - even after rebuild. The previous owner did an amazing job on the frame off rebuild - and I only wanted to make it better! Background, I wanted this exact same car since I first saw a new one in 1973 when I was 13. After almost 50 years, I found the perfect car and then I just wanted to make it better. I started with an amazing new paint job (even though it hardly needed it), mainly because I wanted to add the exact same silver stripes I had seen on that car in 1973. Then Jason and his team basically took apart everything mechanical and replaced anything that was boarderline with the best available from Summit Racing Equipment.
Bottom line, this car is show room ready and arguably the best 454 Chevelle SS 4 speed anywhere but is also as ready to drive as a brand new car. After looking at the pictures, watch the Restomods URL You Tube video above next to photos for a good look at this car before I bought it - it was amazing then and now off the charts. The car is garaged in Atlanta at my family home - but available for inspection and test drive - I fly in and out of Atlanta whenever I have a meeting and could make a plan to meet you there with a few days notice to drive and have inspected. Or if you do like I did and bought it sight unseen, it can be appraised/inspected and shipped anywhere. So why am I selling it?? The only reason is that I moved to Montana full time and live in the mountains on a pretty rough dirt road! My Ford 4x4 F-350 is the only practical vehicle for me here. But if there is not someone out there ready to adopt this beast, I will keep her for cruising to business meetings in Atlanta when I come back every few months. I am very proud of this classic!
