1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Convertible, believed to be Matching Numbers 402 Big Block, Matching Numbers Turbo 400, Factory A/C, Frame-Off Restored, AACA National First Prize Winner. This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Convertible is an exceptional example of one of Chevrolet’s most desirable muscle cars, combining big-block power, award-winning restoration quality, excellent documentation, and a stunning color combination. Finished in beautiful Ascot Blue with White Racing Stripes, this Chevelle makes an incredible impression from every angle. The color is complemented perfectly by a White Power Convertible Top and a beautiful White Bucket Seat Interior, creating a classic and upscale appearance that looks just as impressive with the top up as it does cruising with the top down. Under the hood is a 402 Cubic Inch Big Block V8 Engine paired with a Matching Numbers Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission. Based upon the information and documentation available to us, the engine is believed to be the original matching-numbers engine. Because originality and engine stamp authenticity can be extremely important to collectors, we strongly encourage any prospective buyer who considers this a determining factor in their purchase to have the engine stamping, casting numbers, dates, and related components independently inspected and verified by a qualified third party prior to purchase. This Chevelle underwent an extensive frame-off restoration, and importantly, the restoration is well documented. Included with the car is a photo album showing the restoration process from beginning to end, providing excellent documentation of the work performed and the attention to detail that went into bringing this car back to such a high standard.\ The quality of the restoration has also been recognized at the highest levels of the hobby. This Chevelle is a former AACA National First Prize Award Winner, an impressive distinction that speaks volumes about the overall quality and presentation of the vehicle at the time of judging. Adding to its desirability is Factory Air Conditioning, which blows nice and cold and makes this big-block convertible a pleasure to enjoy even during the warmer months. The car rides on classic 15-inch SS Wheels wrapped in Goodyear White Letter Tires, completing the unmistakable muscle-car appearance. This Chevelle was sold new at Jack Williams Chevrolet in Fort Worth, Texas, adding another great piece of history to an already impressive automobile. This example combines a desirable 402 Big Block V8, Matching Numbers Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission, Factory Air Conditioning, documented frame-off restoration, and impressive AACA award history. The engine is believed to be the original matching-numbers 402; however, because questions remain regarding the engine stamping, we are not making an unconditional representation as to its authenticity. Buyers who place significant value on matching-numbers status are encouraged to have the engine stamp independently inspected and authenticated by a qualified Chevrolet or collector-car expert before purchasing. Regardless, this is a stunning Chevelle that checks many of the boxes collectors look for documentation, pedigree, colors, equipment, big-block power, and exceptional presentation. Whether destined for a serious collection, the show field, or simply enjoyed on a beautiful weekend with the top down, this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Convertible is an outstanding example of classic Chevrolet muscle. Past & Present Motor Cars was founded in June of 2018 by Jack and Jeff and began in 2 small warehouses in Ocala and Winter Garden, Florida. After seeing the business have steady growth in the first year and a half in March 2020 we moved our Main Location in Winter Garden to a new location that at the time seemed huge. We were a little nervous to take on this larger building and higher rent but we knew we had to THINK BIG. After getting moved in, that was the start of Covid. Just after getting settled in we put signs on the door saying we were only open by appointment. While it was a tough time in the world it actually was a good time to be in the car business especially the classic car business and we continued to see steady growth. After 2 1/2 years in that location we proceeded to acquire 4 buildings and lease a 5th building. This allowed for the operation we have today with 150+ Classic Cars and a Service Department. We are still doing the same thing we have done everyday since we opened, Great Customer Service, Owners that are Available and Accessible for our customers and very happy to talk cars anytime anywhere. We will never grow too big to be real with anyone! Keeping our commitment to our customers through straightforward business and ALWAYS doing the right thing! We are the same people with the same commitment as the day we opened and our slogan is and remains:
