1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe 502 Big Block Tremec 6-Speed Pro-Touring Build
This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe is the kind of build that combines classic Chevelle muscle with modern performance, drivability, braking, and comfort. Finished in its factory-correct Mulsanne Blue (Code 26) with aggressive black rally stripes, this Chevelle has the stance and equipment to back up its looks.
502 BIG BLOCK POWER
Under the hood is a replacement 502ci V8 sourced from Engine Factory Inc. and installed in 2007. The big block is equipped with an Edelbrock Endurashine high-rise aluminum intake, Holley carburetor, MSD ignition components, March serpentine drive system, aluminum radiator, and Hedman ceramic-coated headers.
The exhaust runs through an X-pipe MagnaFlow system, giving the 502 the deep big-block sound a Chevelle like this deserves.
Even better, the engine is backed by a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. Power is transferred through an Inland Empire Driveline 3.5-inch aluminum driveshaft to a stout Currie 9-inch rear end with 3.89:1 gearing.
This isn't just a cruiser; it's a properly upgraded drivetrain built to be driven.
PERFORMANCE & HANDLING
The suspension has received serious attention as well. Global West upper and lower control arms, revised front sway bar, and Koni front shocks help give this Chevelle much more confidence than a stock 1972 setup.
Stopping power comes from four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with slotted rotors.
A set of 18-inch Intro billet aluminum wheels wrapped in Nitto NT555 front tires and performance rear rubber gives the car an excellent pro-touring stance.
INTERIOR & COMFORT
Inside you'll find a nicely upgraded black interior with bucket seats and rear bench finished in black vinyl, along with replacement carpeting, door panels, headliner, and insulation.
The cockpit features an Ididit tilt steering column, billet steering wheel, custom instrument panel with AutoMeter Phantom gauges, Hurst shifter, cupholder console, Vintage Air climate-control system, and Alpine multimedia sound system.
The digital odometer currently displays approximately 1,200 miles, with total vehicle mileage unknown.
