*** Vehicle located in NJ - Zoom Classic Cars presents this awesome Z28. This 1972 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is an exceptionally rare find, representing a unique chapter in muscle car history due to the 174-day United Auto Workers strike at the Norwood and Lordstown assembly plants. With production halted for nearly half the year, only 2,575 Z28 models were produced in 1972, making it the rarest Z28 from the 1970–1973 second-generation production run. Engine & Performance:Rebuilt 327cu V8: While the factory 1972 Z28 came with a 350ci LT1, this vehicle features a rebuilt 327 cubic inch V8 with 21,235 miles on the build. Fuel System: Equipped with a performance Holley carburetor for optimized fuel delivery.Transmission: A unique hybrid setup featuring a 4-speed manual shifter paired with a Turbo 400 (TH400) transmission. Note: The TH400 is traditionally a heavy-duty 3-speed automatic, often swapped into high-performance builds for its durability.Rear End: Features a robust 8.5\" 10-bolt rear end, a \"corporate\" axle introduced in the early \'70s known for balancing strength and reliability. Exterior & Interior Aesthetics - Color Scheme: Finished in a striking Burnt Orange exterior paint, complemented by a classic Black interior. Wheels & Stance: Sits on custom wheels with an aggressive stance maintained by new air shocks for adjustable ride height and handling.Restoration Details: The car boasts a new paint job and an updated cockpit featuring new dashboard gauges for precise monitoring of the rebuilt engine\'s vitals. Alpine sound system and speakers added. Currently, air conditioning not working. Historical Significance & Location: The 1972 model year was nearly the end for the Camaro; the strike was so prolonged that over 1,100 partially completed cars had to be scrapped because they could not meet the upcoming 1973 federal safety standards. This specific survivor is currently located in Sussex County, NJ. Owner has kept it garaged and pampered. Own a piece of American motor history and take home this unique and classic Z28.
