This freshly restored 1971 Pontiac Grand Prix is finished in black over black upholstery and powered by a numbers-matching 455ci V8 paired with a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ Rally wheels, BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, a 12-bolt rear axle, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, a black vinyl roof, recessed door handles, dual exhaust system, power windows, and AM/FM cassette radio. The SJ package included the 455 four-barrel engine, a custom lamp package, rally gauges, and SJ branding. The car recently underwent a frame on restoration with basecoat clearcoat paint, and new vinyl top. Recent service consists of oil, transmission fluid and seals, and coolant change, rear axel flush, power steering box, fuel pump, water pump, belts, and hoses.
The car left the factory in Tropical Lime Poly and was recently repainted Black. Features include a black vinyl roof, blackened bumpers with an integrated grille, blackened finished rocker and blackened wheel opening trim, Grand Prix badging, and dual exhaust outlets.
The cabin features front buckets and rear bench seating upholstered in new black vinyl with a matching dashboard (one hairline crack), console, door panels (slight cracking), new carpet, new headliner and new package tray. Additional features include power windows, a center console, lap belts, faux woodgrain accents, polished door sills, and AM/FM cassette radio with new rear speakers. This Grand Prix was equipped with factory air conditioning however is currently non- functional as components are missing.
The three-spoke steering wheel with a Pontiac center emblem fronts a 140-mph speedometer, a combination gauge, and an analog clock (not working). The five-digit odometer indicates 25,000 miles, approximately 2,500 of which have been added by the seller (since restoration).
The numbers-matching 455ci V8 was rebuilt during the recent restoration featuring reconditioned cylinder heads, piston rings, camshaft, rods, bearings and lifters.
