Power comes from the numbers matching 383 Ci V8, factory rated at 335 horsepower and currently fitted with an Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor. The engine block’s partial VIN stamping has been verified and corresponds with the vehicle identification number. The383 is paired with an A833 4 speed manual transmission controlled by the iconic Hurst Pistol Grip floor shifter.
The factory A36 Performance Axle Package includes a 3.55:1 Sure Grip rear differential, heavy duty 8 ¾ inch rear axle and maximum cooling equipment. Additional Performance features include the factory N96 Air Grabber system, Hood ponds, dual exhaust and a 26 inch radiator.
The Road Runner is presented in its factory FC7 In Violet color and is reported to retain its original sheet metal. Gold Coyote Duster style body side graphics accent the purple finish, while Rallye wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/W tires complete its period muscle car appearance.
Inside, the black vinyl bench seat interior maintains a largely factory style presentation. Equipment includes the Rallye instrument cluster with 150 mph speedometer, woodgrain steering wheel, Hurst floor Shifter and a RetroSound radio. Power steering improves low speed maneuverability and over driveability.
A Vintage Air climate control system has been added for improved cabin comfort. The air conditioning compressor does not currently engage, and the cause has not been diagnosed.
The five digit odometer currently displays 00036, representing 100,036 miles following its rollover. Documentation includes a Galen Govier Fender tag decode confirming the Road Runners original 383 engine specification, 4 speed transmission, FC7 paint, Air Grabber system, A36 Performance Axle Package and additional factory equipment.
