Now this is a good looking car that has great performance and a comfortable ride. I could picture cruising all day long in this one! We just bought this car as part of a 4 car collection.
EXTERIOR: I love the combination of colors, wheels and a handsome design. The body looks great, it's straight and fits real nicely. No rust or damage showing. Completely repainted 2 years ago in it's original beautiful Sherwood Green color. The metallic is laid out evenly and the clear coat is polished very smooth and glossy. Weatherstrips were replaced. All of the chrome and trim has been restored or replaced. The black convertible power top is in excellent shape and has a glass window. I really like the SS1 Oldsmobile wheels and they're wrapped in white letter BFG tires. It also has the correct 1970 only sport mirrors.
INTERIOR: Overall great condition and it's very comfortable. I love the bench seat with the fold down armrest cushion. The upholstery, door panels, armrests, carpet was replaced. The dash area is in excellent shape: knobs, gauges, heater control panel, vents etc. it has a retro stereo with speakers in the door panels and removable box speakers in back. It is also rockin a sport wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The rocket 350 is a potent engine making 310 horsepower with a four barrel carb and dual exhaust. This one's completely stock including manifolds, valve covers and air cleaner. Other features include factory air conditioning that has been serviced. It also has power steering and brakes. It is proper and complete: squirters are hooked up, it has hood insulation and under hood lamp. It is detailed very nicely.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted very smooth and glossy. Inside is clean metal with a very neat spatter finish. It has a two piece felt mat, new well liner and weatherstrip. Complete jack and SS1 spare assembly.
UNDERSIDE: The floors are absolutely clean metal painted a smooth semi gloss black. Front end components look good. It went to a front end shop for an alignment so they have also inspected it. Nice sounding dual exhaust with Thrush mufflers. It has disc brakes in front drum and back e-brake assembly is hooked up bottom of the motor looks clean is a turbo 350 automatic transmission and a 12 bolt rear end.
SERVICE: This car went through our inspection. We fixed the horn, brake lights, calibrated the speedometer, gave it a front end alignment and adjusted remote mirror cables.
I have personally owned several 442's and Cutlasses. They really do seem to be a better, smoother driving car than most any other of that era. This will make somebody very happy. You will want to use it, not just look at it!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
