1970 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray LS5 454, TRUE SURVIVOR, NCRS TOP FLIGHT AWARD WINNER, ONE FAMILY OWNED FOR 55 YEARS, NUMBERS MATCHING, INCREDIBLE DOCUMENTATION & HISTORY! Past & Present Motor Cars is extremely proud to offer this exceptional 1970 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, a genuine LS5 454 Big Block, 4-Speed Corvette with remarkable history, outstanding documentation, an extraordinarily rare combination of options, and the kind of provenance serious Corvette collectors search years to find. This is not simply another restored Corvette. This is a TRUE SURVIVOR with an incredible story. Remaining with the same family for approximately 55 years, this Corvette came to us from the twin brother of the original owner. Even more impressive is the remarkable paper trail accompanying the car, documenting its history all the way back to when it was originally ordered new. Among the most fascinating pieces of documentation is an original letter from John DeLorean thanking the original owner for purchasing the first Big Block 454 Corvette ever! Also included is the original blue-pen signed buyer's order from when the Corvette was ordered, along with its original window sticker, tank sticker, Protect-O-Plate, and extensive supporting documentation. The incredible provenance doesn't stop there. This Corvette is an NCRS Top Flight Award Winner, further recognizing the quality, authenticity and significance of this very special automobile. Under the hood is its Numbers Matching LS5 454 Cubic Inch Big Block V8, factory rated at an impressive 390 horsepower. Backing the big block is its Numbers Matching Muncie M20 4-Speed Manual Transmission, delivering exactly the type of driving experience you want from a high-performance C3 Corvette. The car also retains its date-coded rear end, further adding to the integrity of this remarkable drivetrain. Adding tremendously to the car's appearance and history is a dealer-installed factory L88 hood and induction system, including the intake, carburetor and air cleaner. The aggressive L88-style hood looks absolutely at home over the legendary 454 Big Block and gives this already special Corvette an unmistakable presence. Finished in striking Code 51 Daytona Yellow, this Corvette commands attention from every angle. Daytona Yellow is one of those iconic colors that looks right at home on an early chrome-bumper C3 Corvette, especially when combined with the unmistakable styling, proportions and big-block performance of the 1970 Stingray. What makes this Corvette even more extraordinary is its incredible factory option combination. This Corvette was ordered with virtually every option available on a Corvette in 1970, creating an extremely rare group of options for a Big Block Corvette. The extensive equipment is documented right on the original window sticker. It even features the seldom-seen factory security alarm system. The car was also equipped with Four Seasons Air Conditioning and factory-ordered smog delete, a particularly unusual combination on a Big Block Corvette. The air-conditioning system has since been converted to R134a and is currently working, making this Corvette even more enjoyable to drive. The collection of paperwork traces the car's history all the way back to its original purchase and provides the kind of provenance that simply cannot be recreated. The original John DeLorean letter is particularly remarkable, personally thanking the original owner for buying the first Big Block 454 Corvette ever. Combine that with the original signed buyer's order, original window sticker, tank sticker, Protect-O-Plate and decades of family history, and you have a documentation package that is every bit as fascinating as the Corvette itself. Finding a genuine Big Block Corvette is one thing. Finding one with its original numbers-matching drivetrain, NCRS Top Flight recognition, approximately 55 years of one-family ownership, dealer-installed L88 equipment, extraordinary factory options and this level of original documentation is something altogether different. The 1970 model year represents one of the great years of the C3 Corvette era, combining the beautiful early chrome-bumper Stingray styling with serious Big Block performance. The LS5 brought Chevrolet's legendary 454 cubic-inch V8 to the Corvette lineup, and when paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, it created one of the most exciting Corvette combinations of the period. This particular example checks an extraordinary number of boxes: LS5. 454 Big Block. 390 Horsepower. 4-Speed. Numbers Matching. NCRS Top Flight. L88 Hood & Induction. Working Air Conditioning. Daytona Yellow. Exceptional Factory Options. Outstanding Documentation. And Approximately 55 Years of One-Family Ownership. Most importantly, this Corvette has retained the history and character that make an original automobile special. It represents a tremendous opportunity for the collector who values provenance, authenticity, documentation and preservation as much as horsepower and appearance. Cars can be restored. History cannot be restored. With its approximately 55-year family history, numbers-matching LS5 454 and Muncie 4-speed, NCRS Top Flight award, date-coded rear end, dealer-installed L88 hood and induction system, working R134a air conditioning, extraordinary factory option combination and an incredible collection of original documentation, this is the type of Corvette that deserves to be preserved, shown, driven and enjoyed for generations to come. A TRUE SURVIVOR. AN NCRS TOP FLIGHT AWARD WINNER. A TRUE 454 BIG-BLOCK CORVETTE. AND AN EXTRAORDINARY PIECE OF CHEVROLET & CORVETTE HISTORY. Past & Present Motor Cars was founded in June of 2018 by Jack and Jeff and began in 2 small warehouses in Ocala and Winter Garden, Florida. After seeing the business have steady growth in the first year and a half in March 2020 we moved our Main Location in Winter Garden to a new location that at the time seemed huge. We were a little nervous to take on this larger building and higher rent but we knew we had to THINK BIG. After getting moved in, that was the start of Covid. Just after getting settled in we put signs on the door saying we were only open by appointment. While it was a tough time in the world it actually was a good time to be in the car business especially the classic car business and we continued to see steady growth. After 2 1/2 years in that location we proceeded to acquire 4 buildings and lease a 5th building. This allowed for the operation we have today with 150+ Classic Cars and a Service Department. We are still doing the same thing we have done everyday since we opened, Great Customer Service, Owners that are Available and Accessible for our customers and very happy to talk cars anytime anywhere. We will never grow too big to be real with anyone! Keeping our commitment to our customers through straightforward business and ALWAYS doing the right thing! We are the same people with the same commitment as the day we opened and our slogan is and remains:
