1970 CHEVELLE SS 396 � RARE DOCUMENTED ONE OF 2,144 L78�s ***PROJECT*** (58) Autumn Gold (755) Black Vinyl Bench Seat (B) Black Vinyl Top (10B) Built October of 1970 2nd week. OPTIONS: Special High Performance L78 396, M40 Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission, G96 3:55, G80 Posi Tract, JL2 PB, A01 Tinted Glass, U63 AM Radio, C08 Vinyl Top, etc. FEATURES: Car was built at the Lakewood plant in Atlanta Georgia and was sold to Hall Chevrolet Company in Sulligent Alabama. We have the original Build Sheet, Protect-O-Plate and copies of the original order form from where the order was placed as well as a copy of the dealer invoice from when it was invoiced out and purchased. This is a PROJECT ROLLER. It does not have its original numbers matching engine or transmission and neither come with the car. However, it comes with a Warranty Replacement �CE� L78 4 bolt main block. 3969854 Cast Block with a Cast Date of B2470 (Feb 24th 1970) and a CE Stamp of TO30 (March of 1970) It does retain it�s original 12 bolt rear end. I have most of the original trim and interior parts which include the original bumpers, dash, seats and door panels, etc. The Body was taken off the Frame, during that time the frame and all its suspension components have been restored back several years ago. It has new brake and fuel lines, suspension bushings. Steering box, rag joints, rear end, brake components were also restored. New repo spiral shocks. Most of the metal work has been completed and still retains some of its Original Code 58 Autumn Gold Lacquer paint. There are some things across the board that will need to be finished prior to paint but nothing major. All the hard work has been completed. SUMMARY: Again, this is a one of 2,144 L78 Chevelles built in 1970 thus making it even more rare than the mighty big brother the LS6! . Car is full of original documentation as well as great memorabilia from the Original Dealership Hall Chevrolet. This is the kind of car that doesn�t come around often, especially with its rare L78 pedigree and original documentation, including the build sheet and paperwork from the original owner.
