1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu, Matching Numbers 350 V8, Factory A/C, Build Sheet & Protect-O-Plate Here is a very original and well-preserved 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu, finished in its factory-correct Cranberry Red, Color Code 75 75, over a clean Black bench-seat interior. Finding a 1970 Chevelle that has retained this much of its original character is becoming increasingly difficult, making this a particularly appealing example for someone who appreciates originality and solid bones. This Chevelle was built at the Baltimore, Maryland assembly plant and was sold new through Partyka Chevrolet in Hamden, Connecticut. Making the history even more impressive, the car retains its original Build Sheet in excellent condition along with its original Protect-O-Plate two pieces of documentation that are increasingly hard to find with a 56-year-old Chevrolet. Under the hood is a matching number 350 cubic-inch V8 engine (engine stamp photo is shown in the pictures). The 350 is the more desirable of the commonly available small-block choices compared with the base 307, providing the kind of power and drivability that makes these cars so enjoyable on the road. The Build Sheet shows M38, denoting the Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 (TH350) 3-speed automatic transmission. The drivetrain is believed to be original to the car, further adding to the appeal of this remarkably preserved Malibu. What really separates this Chevelle from so many others on the market is its originality. The car retains areas of what is believed to be its original Cranberry Red paint, and it has clearly been preserved and cared for over the years, including by its previous owner in South Florida. Rather than being a car that has been completely taken apart, modified, and put back together numerous times, this Malibu still gives you the feeling of an honest, largely original 1970 Chevelle. The Trim Code 753 Black cloth and vinyl bench-seat interior presents very nicely and maintains the proper factory appearance. New front and rear seat covers have been installed while keeping the interior true to its original configuration. The car is also equipped with factory air conditioning, and the A/C components remain with the vehicle. The system is currently not blowing cold and will require service. The braking system has been upgraded with power front disc brakes, a welcome improvement for modern driving. Underneath, this is a very solid car with solid floors and trunk. The trunk is particularly impressive, retaining its original-style spatter finish and trunk mat, further demonstrating how well this Chevelle has survived through the decades. The exterior is complemented by a classic set of 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels with trim rings, wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires. It's exactly the right look for a 1970 Chevelle sporty without taking away from the car's original character. This Malibu runs and drives well and offers tremendous flexibility for its next owner. Enjoy it exactly as it sits and appreciate an increasingly difficult-to-find original Chevelle, continue preserving and improving it over time, or use its solid foundation for a modern LS-powered restomod while keeping the original drivetrain safely stored away. The Build Sheet, Protect-O-Plate, believed-original drivetrain, factory A/C, Cranberry Red color combination, solid body and preserved original details all make this Malibu something special. Whether you're looking for a classic Chevelle to cruise and enjoy today, a car to preserve as an increasingly rare piece of Chevrolet history, or an outstanding foundation for a tasteful restomod, this 1970 Chevelle Malibu checks a lot of boxes! Past & Present Motor Cars was founded in June of 2018 by Jack and Jeff and began in 2 small warehouses in Ocala and Winter Garden, Florida. After seeing the business have steady growth in the first year and a half in March 2020 we moved our Main Location in Winter Garden to a new location that at the time seemed huge. We were a little nervous to take on this larger building and higher rent but we knew we had to THINK BIG. After getting moved in, that was the start of Covid. Just after getting settled in we put signs on the door saying we were only open by appointment. While it was a tough time in the world it actually was a good time to be in the car business especially the classic car business and we continued to see steady growth. After 2 1/2 years in that location we proceeded to acquire 4 buildings and lease a 5th building. This allowed for the operation we have today with 150+ Classic Cars and a Service Department. We are still doing the same thing we have done everyday since we opened, Great Customer Service, Owners that are Available and Accessible for our customers and very happy to talk cars anytime anywhere. We will never grow too big to be real with anyone! Keeping our commitment to our customers through straightforward business and ALWAYS doing the right thing! We are the same people with the same commitment as the day we opened and our slogan is and remains:
